We drove for hours from Everett. It was a very hot day. We paid $20 or $30 i can't recall. What was the first red flag was they sold loaves of fake brown "wheat bread" to "feed" the animals for $5! Animals should NEVER BE FED BREAD!! As we drove into the plac on a dusty dirty road with with bumper to bumper traffic, that's when my heart began to break. There were these giant pens with wire fenceing holding some of the saddest "wild animals" I had EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! There was a brown bear just sitting on his butt in the dirt with such a sad look on its face while people were flinging slices of bread at it like Frisbees to him. He was so hot, I could tell. There were HUNDREDS OF SLICES of bread covering the ground around him but no water for him go cool off in. Bears in the wild NEED FRESH CLEAN WATER!! We drove on that dusty dirt road that wound around the park. Each exhibit was more heart breaking than the last. There was some kind of cattle like breed ( no signs or any way of knowing what species they were) running around on the dusty dirty road with a steep incline. They were all leaning to stand straight like mountain goats have to do. It's hard to describe. Again we're watching slices of bread flying out of all if the cars ahead and behind us. If it wasn't so sad and DISGUSTING! AND CRUEL... it would be funny. Right about here was when we'd had enough! I just wanted to get out of there before I jumped out of my car and went to the office to let those people know how I felt about their animal prison! As we tried to find the exit was when we saw the worst of the worst. There were wolves and big cats like cougars and a tiger in cement cages with metal bars... just like zoos used to look Iike back in the 50s-70s before they grew brains and stopped making zoos animal prisons. There was no lake or streams or pools of any kind for the animals to cool off in. There were slices of bread carpeting every square inch of this property. I was in tears as we were were trying to find the exit. Once we got out, we had to pull over so we could just calm down and found a place to eat. I had wanted to go there for years. The trip including gas and snacks and the entry fee, cost us $257! I still have nightmares about that place. I just couldn't believe that a place like that continues to be in business. People in my state of Washington LOVE and protect, donate and sponsor wildlife refuges and rescues. This was without question the worst hell for animals I've ever seen. Who feeds "wild animals" cheap fake "wheat bread" for snacks? There were no employees walking about to answer questions and educate guests about the different breeds and species. I do not know how this hell in earth for a animals is still in business. I hope my "review" helps to keep anyone who loves animals, as far awsy from this place as they can get. Please people. If you've been here, you know what I'm talking about! Tell your friends and coworkers, teachers and kids to NEVER spend one thing dime on this piece. Or please do go there do you can see for yourselves how cruel and heartless this place is. No animal wild or domesticated like these poor creatures have become. There's NOTHING WILD about this place. It's an animal incarceration facility that should have all of the animal "inmates" removed and taken to a real wildlife refuge so this place can be shut...
Read moreOur family really enjoyed the Olympic Game Farm experience. We arrived around noon Saturday. It was busy but the lines moved quickly to enter the gate due to great organization and employees managing traffic. At just under $20 per adult person and $3.00 bread to feed the animals it was affordable. I suggest a minimum of 4 loaves of bread or one loaf per passenger plus driver. No outside bread or food is permitted to be fed to wild life per state law. There was not an option to pre order tickets on the website, however after visiting I wouldn't see a value added by providing such a service. We packed a lunch but seen that a very well stocked snack bar had plenty of options for everyone - ice cream included! There were picnic tables throughout the entry area and snack bar. The area appeared to be clean, but we did not utilize those services but noted everyone enjoying and smiling. Sufficient seating was available and most people eating (purchased food and personal food) were able to be seated despite how busy. We visited the gift shop where clerk, Betty checked us out. She was very helpful, gave great customer service and very funny. The shop is good size and made good use of retail real estate, which was stocked well with a variety of items and sizes (S thru 3XL and child/baby sizes) with affordable items. I did wish they had more T shirts that advertised the game farm. The ones they did have for adults were only printed on the back and the others were of sasquatch. Inside of the farm there were many amazing and beautiful animals. It was such an amazing wY to experience animals up close. The staff was very present to help with herding the animals as well as reminding the guests to "keep moving" for obvious safety reasons. All animals were out and active. Some room for improvement: some animals were a bit over weight (maybe limit bread given per day) if possible separate bison from deer as some deer were a bit thin (probably due to very aggressive bison eaters) or I am completely wrong and it's due to all the momma's just having their babies, add more signage for proper caravaning through park including speed limit. Some people were driving too fast, while others weren't driving at all. This might allow staff to focus on other important tasks. All in all this was a beautiful experience and we will definitely be back. We haven't had this much fun in a while. Tips for families: don't bother washing your car and expect possible damage to vehicle (if mirrors fold in, fold them in), bring hand sanitizer, towels or paper towels, small trash bag (don't litter), water for drinking and quick wash up or use wet wipes, stay inside car only hands out, small children may not be able to feed bison and may intimidate little ones, gas up so you can go around multiple times, one loaf of bread per teen/adult passenger and driver, use the restroom beforehand. Sorry only port o potty's are available. I didn't use the port o potty's, but my husband said his was clean, but my daughter said hers was not, but they have running water inside of them for washing up. Have...
Read moreI've been wanting to go here for a long time. I finally got the chance when my dad came to visit, and I talked it up saying how cool it would be. It was terrifying at first when you enter. You're not supposed to dead stop when you start. Signs even state this. The cars ahead of me did, so we were stuck. At one point, there were 4 heads fighting their way into my window. The animals are smart, and usually won't approach if your window is up. One of the bison didn't like my dad ignoring him, so he started rubbing his head on the side mirror. We couldn't move, because the people were stopped again. After that, we folded in the mirrors.
This place is depressing. These animals are being fed this wheat bread, which is terrible for their diet, just for our entertainment. The pens for the bears, big cats, and wolves were so incredibly tiny. One wolf was pacing back and forth, which internet says "Many factors lead to pacing, including quality of an animal's previous and current environment, lack of novel enrichment, or even anticipation of routine care taking activities." These animals roam hundreds of miles in the wild. Being stuck in an area no bigger than my apartment makes me sick.
If I had looked this place up before going, I never would have pushed my dad to go there. Their history of unethical treatment, lack of proper veterinary care, etc. is atrocious.
Animal welfare violations, multiple lawsuits reporting animals suffering from untreated medical conditions, federal inspection reports. No wonder this place has barely any animals. The rest should be taken and released to their natural habitat.
September 8, 2022, not even a month ago, was the latest lawsuit I've come across. -Washington’s highest court is hearing an animal cruelty case involving a Sequim game farm. The lawsuit brought by the Animal Legal Defense Fund accuses the Olympic Game Farm of keeping animals — including gray wolves, grizzly bears, lions and tigers — in “substandard, cramped conditions in violation of the Endangered Species Act and state cruelty laws.”- kiro7
I am mad at myself for going, I will never visit again, and will only mention the mistreatment of the animals if ever brought up. I hope this place loses to the lawsuits and finally closes after 50 years of dodging all...
