Zoo edition in winter! There are perks to visiting in the winter too - fewer people. Today, I think I saw a total of ten cars. Since not many people come to feed, the animals are very enthusiastic (maybe a bit too enthusiastic 😅). · You buy tickets at that little booth: $20🔪 per adult, priced per person, not per car. Bread is$3🔪 a loaf; I suggest 1-2 loaves per person. I tried it, and it’s pretty tasty - like a healthier version of supermarket bread. · There’s only one road in the zoo. If you think the car ahead is too slow or you want to feed the animals a bit longer, you can find a spacious grassy area to overtake. The ticket is a one-day pass, allowing you to enter as many times as you like in a day. · As soon as you enter, you’ll see bison and alpacas. If you love alpacas, you might want to stay a bit longer since there won’t be any more later. I regret not feeding the alpacas more at the beginning 🥹 They’re so cute!!! · Next up are bears, wolves, and lions. The bears are behind fences where you can throw bread to feed them. If you throw it hard and accurately, you can feed them; otherwise, the seagulls might get there first, haha. All the other predators are in fully enclosed cages, so you can only look as you pass by, no feeding. · Then there’s the elk and bison area! There’s a sign that says “don’t stop, they might damage your car.” Pics 5 and 6 show that elk are really big… When a group of them comes over, it’s a sea of darkness… We didn’t feed much in this area, afraid that too many animals might surround us and scratch the car with their horns. · Last but not least, the deer! So cute, so cute, so cute! After seeing a bunch of creatures taller than the car, the little deer look extra cute and non-threatening… Pure joy! · Animals that can run, like alpacas and deer, will chase the car! They’re pretty skilled in getting their food; they’ll run up to the car and circle around the windows. ⚠️ Watch out for the window size! Elk and cows will stick their heads in for food!!! If you don’t want their drool in your car, just open a crack. ⚠️ Remember to bring cleaning supplies! Bison drool will get on your windows!!! None of the windows were spared. With the recent rain, sometimes the bread gets dirty when they eat, and that gets on your car too 🆘 We brought kitchen towels and cleaning spray and scrubbed away after we were done (or you could just go get a car wash afterward). #SeattleSurroundings #SeattleTravel #WhereToGoOnTheWeekend
