Day Drinking in Zillah WA. Paradiso del Sol Winery in Zillah WA. After breaking camp from our first night of wine-camping with HarvestHosts in Zillah, we decided to drive down the road and visit Paradiso del Sol Winery. What a unique winery. The entrance is so unassuming that there is a sign to tell you that you are going the right way. Paul, the owner and winemaker, is quite the character and his tasting room and style reflects him Not only did he serve 10 wines in his tasting, he also served food pairings with each. Oh, and the tasting is free. No, not free with a purchase but free-free. And regarding 'day drinking', Paul assured us that having wine with your food means you are not drinking just eating. We did not get a chance to walk the grounds and see the vineyards or the farm animals but we did go back to our camper van with a couple of bottles of wine and a complimentary melon from his garden. All in all a very fun and educational experience that we would highly recommend.

We've been enjoying wine tastings throughout CA for many years, and have been a member of several wine clubs. And yet, our experience at Paradisos was by far the best wine tasting experience ever. The 2 hour vineyard tour is well worth it to appreciate the ecological complexity of an organic vineyard. Of course, we love Italian & Spanish varietals, and Paul has an affordable "everyday" Sangiovese and a big wonderful Rojo blend. The subtle complexity of his range of white blends is amazing. Great people, great vineyard, great wine, & a great experience.

This vineyard is beautiful. We got to spend a night at the vineyard in our RV as we are Harvest Host members. We woke up to a beautiful view and saw the sheeps very close to us. The wine tasting was fun, we got to chat with the owners for a long time and my dog definitely had a blast with their 3 dogs. They make good quality wines and we bought a case. We really like it being organic and affordable. Will visit again :)

Where to start . . . there are so many great things about Paradisos del Sol Winery! Paul, the winemaker, is very knowledgeable, both about winemaking and about organic practices. His pre-tasting presentations are always interesting and informative. Tastings are unique in that they routinely pair selected small food samples with their wines, and willingly provide recipes and resources for those accompaniments.

The wines . . . I would say I have a favorite, but it really does depend on the season, what I'm eating, etc. Their Rose Paradisos is one of the best roses I've tasted, and is a perennial summer favorite; their Sangiovese is sublime; their Seve a treat. Even their "table wines" -- Oyster White, B's Blend, and Rojo Paradisos -- are far superior to most table wines.

We can't always get over to the Yakima Valley, so the fact that they deliver regularly to the greater Seattle area is always appreciated. We're fortunate enough to be usually the last stop, so I often get a chance to chat with either Barbara or Paul, which I enjoy greatly.

I highly recommend a visit...

Kyle and I happened to be in the right place at the right time coming back from a road trip in the sawtooths! Such a pleasant experience- we were thrilled to get to sit in the sun and pet some sweet pups, while drinking delicious wine, eating yummy tamales, and chatting with the owners for some time. It’s a rare experience these days to feel so comfortable and welcome and safe amongst strangers as we all adjust to what we are from this pandemic. The connection and warmth that we felt was a great reminder. I know we will be coming back soon. ❤️ side note that we LOVE doggos and their three pups are very sweet and friendly and while there may be a bark here and there when they come greet you- for folks that are weary of animals - they...
