SINGLE PARENTS & MOMS MUST READ!!!!!! From a parent to another .. if you are reading this review to decide if this is the place for you , it is not . This is the only negative review I have ever written during my lifetime (honestly, but you are free to apply that as you wish). First off, this is not single parent friendly , if you don’t have another adult to go With , don’t even go … it’s stressful with the tube situation if you have no one to stay back and hold the inner tubes , you can’t take a break to eat , go to splash pad , or even go to the bathroom . You will lose your inner tube and good luck getting another one . The staff consists of college kids who act as such and don’t care about customer service at all. I had an absolutely miserable time , I’ve been home for 6 hours and I am still very upset . This is my 1st time at this location , however I have had positive experiences at its sister location Red Oaks. Today, I arrived within 1 hour of opening , likely 30 mins but I want to be fair and accurate .
Then….
There were no inner tubes available . I asked a life guard what the procedure for this was politely , he told me other lifeguards were around collecting inner tubes not in use and that I should wait at the tent where the inner tubes were stored. I did so and waited for quite a while , so much so that the same guy I had asked about the procedure noticed and found me two inner tubes .
I went in the wave pool with my daughter very briefly until she asked for her googles ( something we had missed grabbing after all the mess with the inner tubes) I was trying to adjust them but they were new and I was having trouble, so, it was taking a little longer than it normally would . A different staff member came and took tubes and said other guests needed to use my inner tube . I had to literally argue with staff member to keep the inner tube, my daughter become upset and asked me to stop ( but she did not comprehend he was taking our tubes we had just waited 30 mins for )
Then we had to abandon them when we went into the splash pad area , which I understand , no complaints about that , however , when we returned of course I couldn’t find any inner tubes available . I even asked staff for help again without success and waited a long time . I saw some deflated ones in a pile and asked staff if I could blow one up , they tried but apparently it wasn’t working . So , I Blew it up manually myself….. just to allow my daughter to use one . But … we again had an issue , my daughter was hungry … well “there are no tubes allowed in picnicking area” she literally was eating a string cheese ! I was told as the inner tube I had just blown up By mouth and probably now have COVID for 😂 was being ripped area by the original staff member who watched me wait a half hour for a tube when I arrived the first time 🤯.

Read moreHaving just been at Red Oaks within the past 10 days, and having an excellent experience there, we were shocked by the sheer rudeness of the Lifeguards at Waterford Oaks. While we acknowledge this isn't an easy job, there is absolutely NO need to speak to people the way that nearly every single guard spoke to both children and adults all day. One of the biggest points of contention is that there is no posted sign that people may not be on the wall to the left of the pool and it is confusing because you are able to be on other areas of the walls. When the Lifeguards would whistle for that particular infraction, most people could not hear them, especially when the waves were running, at the entrance of the pool. Whoever is training these guards has some serious work to do. I overheard countless children and adults alike complaining about the incessant rudeness. Additionally, there is no posted notification on the website that there are no longer water slides at the park and the cost of admission does not seem to be in alignment with the fact that there are only two attractions. Finally, the bathrooms were disgusting despite the park having been closed the previous day and we arrived at opening. Toilets did not flush, messes had been festering seemingly for days, they were dirty and smelly. Really...
Read moreRed Oaks Madison Heights is WAY better. These lifeguards do more bossing around and whistle blowing than they do making sure people don’t drown. Twice we had the waves stopped because certain kids were pretending to drown and causing problems. They would stop the waves and this kid just kept laughing every time the lifeguard came to save him. One bad apple spoils the bunch ruining it for EVERYONE. It’s called KICK THE TROUBLE MAKER FAKE DROWNING KID OUT OF THE POOL and let us enjoy our waves. We paid 40$ to basically go to an over crowded pool with 2 minutes of waves every half an hour. They stop the waves because someone is “fake drowning” and then make everyone wait another 40 minutes for waves. It got old REAL QUICK. Also, there are NO WATER SLIDES, no concession stand and NO SPLASH PAD. Man- won’t ever come here again. Do better. 40 minutes of waiting for 2 minutes of waves and someone’s di$khead of a kid from the trailer park/Detroit ruining it for everyone. This is why we can’t have nice things. SMH I’ll be going to support Madison Heights from now on, I’ll redo my wave pool day again this...
