We moved here a year ago after a really poor experience at my husband's old apartment complex. Rent is reasonable and the others complaining have way too high of expectations for apartment living. (I learned this one myself the hard way.)
If you can look past the need for a cosmetic update and sometimes noisy neighbors, this place offers a really great atmosphere. Our hallway can get pretty rowdy, but we aren't able to hear all of the noise in our bedroom. Kitchen is small but I like having a seperate dining room and the bedrooms are a good size. These 2 bedrooms always have a wait list so if you're interested, call them as soon as you know you need to move! We got new carpet when we moved in and they actually put down decent stuff!
Nicole and Chris were so helpful with the application process and have been very prompt in assisting us in with whatever we need since we moved in! They really do care about their jobs and want to make your experience a nice one. I have loved getting to know them and will be really sad when we have to move!
Maintenance has always been prompt and Brian, John, and Josh have always been professional and knowledgable. It's really important to keep an open line of communication with the front office regarding your needs. It is also important to have realistic expectations and understand the difference between and emergency and a non-emergency service call.
I would not hesitate to resign a lease with them! In fact, before we decided to purchase a home, we decided this was the place we were going to live for the next few years until we decided to buy a home. I am so sad to be leaving, but my husband and I are off on our next great adventure!! We will definitely miss Nicole and Chris and I jokingly said I'm going to have my packages delivered to the front office every once in a while just so I can pop...
Read moreIf you love having your rent raised 3 years in a row; having paper-thin walls being the only thing that separates you from inconsiderate neighbors; little amenities; rundown, outdated units with paneling hanging off the sides of the buildings; hit-or-miss maintainence; and management leaving passive-aggressive notes all over your building, you've found your new home. If you have the option of finding better places, do that. The only reason I'm not rating HP 1 star is because the location is fairly nice and convenient, and certain units have carports. Otherwise, HP is a subpar apartment complex with little to show for it, or make it stand out from other places. When I first moved in I would have said this would be a good starter apartment, but now I can't even do that; for what it has to offer HP is prohibitively expensive, and management will twiddle their fingers and shrug when you ask what the justification in the raise was. They don't, and won't, give two craps because they either live rent-free or have discounted rates. Unfortunately I'm stuck here for another few years, but you'd better believe I'm getting the hell out of Dodge the first opportunity I can, assuming the ridiculous price jumps in rent don't force me out first. If management reads this, HP is a disappointment, and it has not been a good place to live for a while now. Do better in 2024 and advocate for better rent prices, or an overall better apartment complex at the bare minimum, instead of being part of the problem, and forcing people out of housing just to "stay competitive with current housing market prices", or price gouging the hell out of your tenants to have that money go nowehere productive or beneficial for...
Read moreWalls are very thin, you can hear most conversations your neighbors are having. Maintenance is almost non existent. One window pane is cracked, limescale from the water in sinks and tub, walls and countertops are pretty rough. Soo many bugs. Plug sockets are so old that your plugs will fall out on their own. Was shown a significantly better apt than i was given. All of these issues were brought to the company’s attention upon moving in, but after 6+ months still no improvements. Take pics when you move in. Also, I should add that i have had to call the police from a gun related incident involving my neighbors.
If you have good neighbors, you will most likely be fine here. Putting the cosmetic issues and the occasional screaming match from the people around you aside, the staff at the leasing office are very kind and willing to help when they can. Good starter place for someone in their late teens or early 20s i guess as it is the cheapest around in the...
