J&R Computers — Attraction in Watertown

I am VERY disappointed in the service provided by J&R Computers. I decided to take a chance on them, since I had read some positive online reviews, and I like to support small, local businesses. Brought my work computer to them for virus removal. They convinced me to also buy new anti-virus software from them, since the owner assured me it was "the best". $200+ and less than a week later, my computer was overrun with adware. I brought the computer back and explain what is wrong (the employee suggests that I've just been "clicking allow on everything". Nope - I'm not doing that) and they clean it again. One week later - overrun with adware AGAIN. I bring the computer back a THIRD TIME and ask why this keeps happening if the anti-virus software they sold me is so great - the owner tells me that I had uninstalled the anti-virus software (Nope - I definitely did not do that). He cleans the machine and tells me it is a "freebie, just this time" (seriously? are you kidding me??). I bring my machine back to the office to discover that programs that worked just fine the day before I brought my computer to J&R suddenly don't work - Photoshop and Carbonite won't even open. And, to top it all off, I still have adware. J&R Computers was a waste of my money...

I brought my pc in monday afternoon and had it back to me friday evening. Took a 4ish days but they had other orders before mine and its not like it was a simple screen repair they could do in 10minutes.

I brought my desktop which would turn on, but would give no output to mouse, keyboard, or displays. Basically bricked. J&R found that the problem was the motherboard and when they called me about it, they were very genuine and informed me it was a pricy repair. I have an i9 10th gen which it great except the motherboards arent being made anymore and are being sold for outragous amounts online (350-600 bucks) Luckily they had one in store and was able to install it the day they called and have everything all set before closing for me to pick up. All together my payment was about $600

$350 Motherboard $250 for Diagnotic and repairs

Although pricy, normal computer repair technician price is $65 an hour minimum. Id say they worked about 4ish hours on my pc with diagnosing, repairs, tests. Not the worst price if you see it layed out.

I will definitly be going back if I need assistance again, they were wonderful. Also they have a REALLY CUTE boxer you...

i called J & R computers because my morphie juice pack had a swollen battery. They said they could not fix it but suggested that I call Morphie for a replacement. I was going to just toss it ( but it was very expensive) . I took his advice and although this case was purchased in 2016 Morphie is going to replace it free of charge. J & R computers knows their stuff. I also had brought in my Iphone 6 Plus for repair at an earlier date and they fixed it at a very reasonable price. I felt after that visit that they were very knowledgeable and that is why I called about the case. So, now I have confidence that they are a reliable company and will bring all my future tech problems to them and rely on them for answers to all my questions. I would give J & R 6 if possible. Very impressed. I read the two negative reviews. Sorry for their bad experience but I did not find the person(sorry don't know the name) rude arrogant or anything remotely like the person described. He was very patient , kind and sincerely interested in solving my problem. I actually hung around for awhile while he fixed my I phone....
