I am 18 and visited here with a friend and my parents. We were visiting Roman Nose State Park. We came into town to eat and went in the casino. We didn't have our IDs and were asked to leave. We went back to the hotel and retrieved our IDs. When we came back, we were immediately approached by security. We showed our IDs. The security officer just kept staring at them. Some conversation ensued. My mother questioned what the problem was. The security officer called for back up. We were told the problem was that we left and came back, to which my mother replied "because we went to the hotel to get our IDs." They just kept looking at our IDs for a full two plus minutes. Finally, my mother asked if it was because my friend was black. The security officer replied with the most bizarre response that he had children and they (or their friends?) were "colored." To which my parents questioned use of this antiquated term. My parents finally said "let's just go. They just saved us money." And as we walked away the security guy responded "well, y'all just saved us some trouble." My dad was like "what trouble? We came in with proper IDs and money to spend and you are just giving us a hard time." I am sure it must have been a racial issue or the security guys had some kind of power trip because there was absolutely no explanation for their behavior. We left at 9-10 pm on a Monday night in Watonga and drove the approximately 45 minutes round trip to the state park to get our Identification and came back...they acted like we went and had fake IDs printed at 10 pm on a Monday night in Watonga, America. Well, later on our trip we stopped and gambled at RiverStar Casino...They were super nice and had table games. We were glad to play there and that we didn't spend any money at Lucky Star Watonga, nor will we ever go to a Lucky Star...
Read moreI have family in the Watonga area, so decided to check out Lucky Star to kill a couple of hours. I'm not a regular gambler and have only been in a casino one other time in my life, about 10 years ago. I approached a woman behind the counter and told her that I had never been there before and did not know what I was supposed to do to start playing the slots. I feel like I was friendly and asked the question in a respectful manner. She rudely told me to "Just stick your money in the machines." I was taken aback and just said "Okay" and began walking toward the slots. I was accompanied by a fenale relative (I am male). Once the woman saw that I was with someone, her demeanor completely changed and she immediately became friendly and asked my relative if she wanted to sign up for some kind of card with some kind of free points. My relative said sure and then the woman asked me if I wanted to do so, I said "No thanks", but after a bit of cajoling from my relative and the woman, I reluctantly did so. The woman said it take a few minutes for the card to begin working. My relative's card worked just fine, but mine never did even after 20 minutes. Since I didn't want to deal with the possibility of more rude treatment by engaging another employee, I just bent the card in half and threw it away. I will definitely never visit a Lucky Star business again, but no big loss on their part as I am not much of a gambler anyway. I just felt that upper management should know and perhaps provide additional training and guidance to their front...
Read moreI had high hopes for the new casino but was very disappointed when I went in to check it out. It is 2021 and they allow smoking inside the building. You would think that with only 14% of the US population being smokers they would realize that by allowing smoking inside they are pushing away 86% of their potential customers. On top of the fact that the place smells horrible because of the smoking that is allowed indoors, it also makes no sense whatsoever when combined with the fact that they mandate mask usage. I of course support the fact that masks are required in the casino. However I don't understand their logic of requiring a mask but then allowing smoking inside the building. How can that possibly make sense in their heads? you require a mask, but then allow people to remove the mask to smoke? The smokers then touch their mouths constantly taking cigarettes in and out of their mouths touching their saliva and then touching the screens and buttons on the slots? This place is hypocritical and gross.
Please get with the times and stop allowing people to smoke indoors if you want the 86% of the non smoking population to be interested in your casino.
There is also no card tables. We want blackjack at least. but even if there was card tables I wouldnt be coming in anymore because of...
