North Beach — Attraction in Waukegan

This is a real hidden gem of a beach. Since the water is freezing year round in Lake Michigan, I tend to go only a few times a year. This beach is my preferred beach destination for relaxing. Soft sandy shores with little distractions. North Beach stretches very long so it is quite possible to have loads of privacy. About a 1 hour drive from downtown Chicago. Be prepared for a small walk from the parking lot to the beach.

Took my family here in summer of '24. Beach was okay nothing great however, for non-residents (Live in IL, different city) they charge for parking. They set up a tent by entrance and collected $20 for parking. Better you go nearby...
