Waukegan Harbor Light — Attraction in Illinois

Great little view spot. You get a nice overview of Waukegan from here. You can also see Chicago out in the distance on a clear day or at night. A lot of foot traffic in warm weather. The walkway itself could use some work in some areas. They're a certain section that's beat up with holes and cracked pavement so you'll need to watch your step. There's also some neat snack shops by the harbor entrance so you can eat some snacks and ice cream while you walk. It's definitely one of the better spots...

This place is awesome. The directions were not great and took us to the beach side with harbor light and not the dock side harbor light that we wanted to see. After checking out the one on the beach, we drove around to the harbor to check out the other one. Fantastic views. Can even see downtown Chicago in the distance. Tons of beach space. Lots of parking. We came during the middle of the day so I can only imagine how busy this place is...

Great view, watching the waves crash out on the lighthouse. Gorgeous sunrise. Lots of fishers and beautiful water. I completely felt safe even though people decided to graffiti the walkway. Stop for ice cream at the Cedar Chest snack shop nearby and live music at Green Town. Though between you and me, last night was a little rough on the ears....lol. But everyone has dreams to...
