Fun adventure! We started at the East entrance which was about 1/2 a mile to the entrance. Once inside the tunnel the temperature was about 20⁰ cooler, and the wind helped you feel every bit of it. You most definitely need good flashlights; a cellphone light will not cut it. The East side walls were all rock with some sections where the water was dripping down. The West side was bricked and noticed no sections of water seeping in. We hiked all the way through the tunnel to the West side parking lot. There was a decent elevation change but the scenery was beautiful. In total the hike was a little over 4 miles round trip.
