This is the worst customer service experience I have encountered.

We came here to celebrate and check out the venue for our wedding.

The day we made our reservation it was pouring rain. Mind you, each reservation costs $25 dollars and they boast they have nicely covered patios and fire pits.

They have no number to call whatsoever or any way at all to get in contact with them outside their core business hours of Monday through Friday. I left 3 voicemails - 2 at the winery and 1 at the farmhouse B&B. No one answered. I sent 2 emails and left messages on Instagram. No answer.

It took until 48 hours late for someone to reach out to us. We got ahold of someone on Instagram and via email. Then they called us and said we could get a reservation the following Sunday for two similar time slots.

We showed up today. Their patio space was horrible. No tents for tables and literally nothing looked like what they were advertising in their emails.

They had no reservations marked down for us. The lady checking people in sent us to phase II restaurant 3 times saying we could get in and saying they would give us champagne for our troubles. Every time this happened we were sent back saying there was no room. Annoyed from being passed around to several people, we left.

I am never coming back here. Save your time and your money and go somewhere else.

Update: 24 hours later and no refund...

First of all I am not the one that generally leaves reviews. I have to be extremely upset in order to leave one. I've wanted to go to a winery for a long time. The one I chose was Veritas Vineyard and Winery (In vino veritas, you know). It was a totally disappointing experience. When we arrived the hostesses told us to go to the left around the building and grab a table. Well, we did that. Then we were told we could not sit there by a waitress. Ok! When we placed our order it came in two to go boxes instead of a charcuterie board (like other customers'). No silverware or plates were provided either. When asked for some we were given a lame excuse that they were busy the night before and didn't have any leftover. Not an excuse you want to give to a customer. It was a holiday weekend, they should have known better. This is not an answer you give to a customer that drove for hours to be there. I work in customer service myself and always go above and beyond to keep my customers satisfied. I ended up going to the front and getting silverware from the hostesses. Seems like there is a total lack of communication between the people that run the front vs the back. Employees in the back don't seem to care at all. We felt unwelcome the whole time. Please note there were seven of us. Neither one of us enjoyed the experience. I am definitely going to a different...

I have been to Veritas a few times for wine and always enjoyed the wine and the views. I also had my wedding at Veritas in August 2024 and it was wonderful. We looked at Veritas after looking at a number of other venues, including other vineyards, and immediately felt right at home in the space and with Meredith Jackson, who is the events manager and served as our Day of Coordinator. The moment we met Meredith, we knew we were in good hands. We were excited about holding our wedding at Veritas, but it was working with Meredith that sealed the deal for us. She was super responsive, dependable, trustworthy organized, kind, flexible, and helpful every step of the way and on the day itself. At Veritas itself, there are so many great photo opportunities, the men’s and ladies lounges as well as the tasting room and reception space are wonderful, and there are so many beautiful views. Further, the staff were professional, on time, and did a great job with everything. The meals were all perfectly cooked and received compliments (I ordered filet mignon and it was medium, a good size, and the meal was filling). The wedding party also had lunch from the terrace beforehand, which was delicious, so good in fact that we went back for lunch again two days later! We are so thankful we got married at Veritas and would highly recommend Veritas...

What could be better than a forest light walk followed by gluhwein by the fire?
Welcome to one of the most magical holiday light experiences in Virginia: 📍 Veritas Illuminated at Veritas Vineyards in Afton, VA 🎄 A family friendly walking trail with more than 100,000 twinkling lights wrapped around the vines and forest. Glowing trees, tunnels, and that dreamy Blue Ridge backdrop. After the walk, you can warm up inside the Tasting Room with wine and their winter menu. 🔥🍷 We grabbed mulled wine by the fire and it instantly felt like the perfect Christmas night. It’s such a pretty spot for a date night, a family outing, or a holiday catch-up with friends. 🗓️ Open select evenings from Nov 24, 2025 through Jan 3, 2026 If you’re looking for Christmas lights near Charlottesville or a holiday event in Virginia, Veritas Vineyards is truly such a magical pick.

Virginia’s Best Christmas Activities: Veritas Illuminated Light Show 📍 Afton, VA Illuminate is back at Veritas! The second annual light show has the vineyard *glowing* even brighter than last year. The grove & vineyard are sparkling with lights and decorations now through January 6, 2024. The half mile walking trail has over 100,000 lights and decorations. It’s just steps from the tasting room, so you can grab wine or hot chocolate for your stroll too! The Tasting Room has a special *Winter Wonderland* menu during this holiday event. With items like a charcuterie board & truffle fries to French onion grilled cheese & big biscuit chicken sando, you can find something for the whole family. •••••• Things to Know 💥 Tickets cost $10-$15 a person. Children ages 3 and under are free. 💥 Tickets are timed to manage the number of guests on the trail at one time. 💥 Walk-ins will be accommodated depending on the crowd. 💥 The illuminated walking path is open Thursday through Sunday nights from 5:30pm to 9pm. 💥 It’s a half mile walking trail in the woods. It’s a true winter walk in the woods & Chambourcin vines — all unpaved. 💥An all terrain stroller would work. For the most enjoyable experience, bring a baby carrier or let you kiddo walk. There’s plenty of spots to stop & rest! 💥Dress comfy & for the weather. Most of this experience is outside. 💥Parts of the trail are dark - bring a flash light to help little ones. 💥 Pups are welcome outdoors at the winery, but not on the walking trail. 💥The Tasting Room has indoor & outdoor seating. You can also reserve an igloo! 💥The Tasting Room is accessible & has a brick-paved patio. It’s decorated for the Christmas season too. 💕 Thank you for having us, Veritas! We visited Veritas this afternoon, and were so impressed we just had to write a review. A lot of places go around saying that they're "COVID safe", but Veritas is the first place I felt deserved the label. We booked one of the reserved outdoors seating areas, where we had a picnic table under a gazebo, in a little roped-off area all to ourselves. All the little roped-off areas were really well spaced, a good 6-8 yards between each table. It was lovely, and was the safest-feeling setup we've come across anywhere since COVID. We had a view over the vineyards, with the nearby mountains shifting behind the mist. Some of the tables are out on the grass, so be aware there can be a little mud on rainy days. There was a $25 reservation fee, but we felt it was totally worth it (we were also allowed to take our glasses home). We ordered a sampling flight of 4 wines (chosen by vineyard), that came with a little information card, that described each wine, and gave a link to a video by the winemaker describing each. We especially liked the viognier We also each ordered one of their flatbreads; they were delicious; very generously sized and covered in tasty toppings.
