Katy Trail - Weldon Spring Trailhead — Attraction in Weldon Spring Heights

There is typically plenty of parking at this trailhead and it has a vault toilet. If you ride west from here, Defiance is about 2 miles away--there's several bar & grills just off the trail there. Several wineries are a bit farther down, but I'm unsure of the mileage. As for nature, you get to see some swampy areas, small caves in rock wall, and you'll cross a creek. Once you're through Defisnce, there are several road-crossings. You should see signs for Klondike State Park--be sure not to miss...

This is a nice stop, whether one is hiking the trail, or coming in off the road. If you drive beyond the trailhead and its parking lot you'll eventually reach a boat ramp on the Missouri River, where you'll be treated to nice views of the river. My dog took advantage of the water to cool off, after the 1 1/2 hours we spent exploring the little village at the Daniel Boone Home National Historic Site. Went to Weldon spring trailhead at Katy Trail to see the Sunflowers. Day late, dollar short since the 🌻 Sunflowers drooped the night before. There was some standing which was nice.
