Fighter’s Heaven - (Open By Appointment Only During November-April) — Attraction in West Brunswick Township

There are places in this world that hold a special kind of magic—where the past lingers in the air, where history feels alive. Fighter’s Heaven is one of those places.

Muhammad Ali’s beloved training camp in Deer Lake, PA, has been lovingly restored to its former glory, and stepping onto these grounds is like stepping back in time. His presence is everywhere—from the iconic log cabins to the gym where he trained, to the mosque where he found peace. Every detail has been thoughtfully preserved, making it more than just a historic site—it’s a living tribute to the man who inspired me and millions others.

I am deeply grateful to Mick Stefanek, whose hospitality made our visit unforgettable, and to owner Mike Madden and all those who have poured their hearts into maintaining and restoring this special place. Their dedication ensures that Muhammad’s legacy isn’t just remembered but felt.

Staying a couple nights in one of the cabins, hearing the echoes of the past, and even having the chance to step inside the mosque and offer a prayer was an experience I will carry with me forever.

Whether you are a friend of Muhammad's, a lifelong fan, or simply someone who appreciates history, resilience, and one-of-a-kind greatness, Fighter’s Heaven is a place you need to visit. It is more than a museum—it is a pilgrimage, an inspiration, and a testament to the spirit of the Greatest...

So let me start off by saying that I am not the biggest boxing fan, but I chose to join my co-workers on a trip to Fighter's Heaven. I'm glad I did because to say that this trip was entertaining is a huge understatement.

Fighter's Heaven is located in a rural and very scenic area. It is about 4 miles north of Deer Lake, PA, and is very easy to find.

This place has been immaculately updated. The displays are well done, organized, and contain very interesting facts on Ali's camp.

Our host and guide Mick was excellent and provided interesting, detailed facts about Fighter's Heaven.

You could spend as little as 45 minutes here or up to 2 hours if you choose to look at all the picture albums and read all the literature at the displays.

If you are a fan of Ali or just boxing in general, Fighter's Heaven should be on your bucket list!

Best time ever walking where the "Greatest" once walked. The facility was immaculate, organized with the best photos of all The Late Muhammad Ali ever experienced. The fact his personal cabin was completely off-the-grid was mind blowing he would enjoy living the simplicity many have abandoned was very impressive! Many cabins, boxing ring, a mosque, kitchen and even the four boxes of Wheaties he once was featured. Boulders on each side of driveway embossing each fighters name including Sonny Liston was an artistic element second to none. Yes Deer Lake, Pa is fortunate to have Joe Madden, Jr to make a museum out of Ali's history. You will want your visit asap. Soon there will be Air b&b available to spend overnights.
