I had did my proposal here and did a farm-to-table Dinner for 11. One of my friends have a 2 year old baby and the manager required me to pay the full rate of $125.00 because the baby will be occupying a seat. I agreed to pay that amount and confirmed to the manager that the baby will not eat any of the food but still make sure to give us his plate that I had paid for. I called twice to confirm this arrangement. The manager told me that we will definitely get all 11 plates I had paid for. The proposal day came and it was a success. My fiance and our friends then went to dinner. After the first course, I noticed that they only gave us 10 plates and missed the one for the baby. I called our server and they told me they didn’t count the baby. I showed them the receipt which reflected me paying for 11 guests and had told them that their manager required me to pay for the baby. Our server said she will confirm it to their manager. The second course came, and they still missed a plate. I called our server again to follow-up. Finally, gave they us all 11 plates by the third course but never gave the first 2 dishes that they have missed. For the last dish, I was the last one who got the dessert (Rhubarb Crumble) and it looked like leftover scrap that, (Rhubarb sauce with no crumble). It was sour and terrible. I am really disappointed with their service. My fiance and I still managed to make this moment special despite of their awful service. We will never consider this place for our wedding. I feel cheated for paying around $1400 for my guests and got less of what I paid for. I’m sure that they will do the same below par service and rather uninteresting food if we have our wedding there. There are far more better places in South Jersey for your special occasions. Please please please consider Cape May Winery instead! They have far better service and have better views. I should have done my proposal there since my fiance and I go...
Read moreBased off a Google search we found Beach Plum Farm. Upon entering we were in awe. The grounds were incredibly beautiful. What was the beginning of the downfall began with food. The line was long, though moving somewhar quickly, there was only 1 cash register to order food, while one cashier stood doing nothing. She said she was only ringing up market purchases. None were made the whole time we were on line. We ordered a Bahn mi, side salad, fritattata and a SAUSAGE, EGG and CHEESE. After a substantial wait for food, a very stressed looking young man brought the fritattata, salad, and Bahn mi. He went to walk away from us, with our table #, and I asked about the EGG sandwich. He asked "did you order it on a bagel?" My son said "I ordered SAUSAGE, EGG, and cheese", and that he did not ask for a bagel. We waited, waited, and waited, no egg sandwich . Went inside to inquire and was told the sandwich would be expedited. Nothing! We caught the young man, who again looking stressed & perplexed, to ask about the sandwich. Again, SAUSAGE, EGG and CHEESE. He said he'd look in to it but THERE'S AN HOUR WAIT FOR FOOD. WHAT? It was already over 45 minutes since our partial order was brought to the table. My son went back inside to inquire. The same perplexed server arrived plopped down a sandwich, without saying a word, and quickly walked away. It was a cold, runny egg, dry cheese, on partially toasted bread, NO SAUSAGE. Needless to say, the $14 sandwich went in the garbage Customer service is obviously not a priority. A simple sorry for the mixup would have made a difference. Two tables around us also had to ask several times for missing parts of their orders. I do understand it was Memorial Day weekend and very busy, but this was very unacceptable service, and put a damper on what we hoped to be a lovely breakfast outing. All because the kitchen couldn't deliver a SAUSAGE, EGG...
Read moreUpdate: A couple of weeks ago I gave Beach Plum Farm 2 stars. Krystina (owner's rep) responded asking me to reach out directly "to discuss further". I did. I wrote a long email explaining everything. Never heard back. In addition to not being worth $124/person, their customer service seems to be just as mediocre. Changed my rating to one star. I went to the farm-to-table dinner expecting a fabulous experience. It wasn't. First, it was not Covid safe AT ALL! Tables were not far apart enough, people were not wearing masks (staff was, however, kitchen staff had masks not covering their noses, you could see this as you waited for the not-so-great bathroom). Second, silverware and glasses were re-used and re-filled as wait-staff touched EVERYTHING from table to table. Water pitchers touch glasses as they went from table to table. At over $124/person (with no drinks) I expected awesome food and flawless service. Service was terrible, I asked for water and never got it. We were halfway through our wine bottle before they brought an ice bucket. Atmosphere was terrible, some of the lights were not working. Food was mediocre, chicken was tough. I wanted to have a "farm" experience, we couldn't hear anything pass the violinist. We couldn't even tell what songs he was playing. It was terrible. I read all great reviews. IT WAS NOT GREAT AT ALL!!!!!! Certainly not worth your money. I am not giving it 1 star because of the chickens. I loved the chickens roaming around us before the mosquitoes ate us alive. I wish I could get...
