MANAGER STOLE PIECES OF PUZZLE DURING LIVE GAMEPLAY. I’ve been meaning to review this room but I keep forgetting to do so. I certainly haven’t forgotten my experience there this past May. If I could give negative stars, I would. This is one of the worst escape rooms I have been in. My boyfriend and I did 80’s house party. We thought the room concept would be fun. Things started off rocky when the general manager wanted to play the room with us. We were baffled. I asked, “haven’t you already played this game?” He replied he had but he didn’t remember it. I said I don’t think that is a good idea. He said ok. THEN, he went in the room anyway with a clipboard and stood in the middle of the room. Apparently, he was evaluating the DJ who was a live actor in the game who was new. The DJ was trying his best and he messed up a few times but I don’t blame him at all. He gave it his all and you could tell he was nervous. We were also in there with another new employee who was completely normal and had never played. My boyfriend found a matchbox car but I guess he found it too early. The manager took it while no one was looking. He spent so much time looking for it. He kept saying, “I swear, I just had that car. I put it right here.” Miraculously, it reappeared later in the game right where he left it. He did not misplace it. There was a point in the game where the manager took over one of the puzzles and wouldn’t let someone participate. The whole experience was unbelievable. The room had some great ideas and puzzles but the manager being present and disruptive was too much. I was uncomfortable the whole time and hated it. After we “escaped” the manager did offer a discount if we would come back to do another room. You couldn’t pay me to come back, it...
Read moreI credit this place still with my worst escape room experience (I've had over 40 at the writing of this review). First of all, their youth policy allowed 6 unsupervised 12-13 year old boys into the room. I asked the chaperone who sat outside the room afterwards why she didn't go in. She didn't want to be in the room with them! The same could be said about my party of two adults or the other party of three adults that signed up for the Zombie room! To make matters worse, because the live actor is a chained up Zombie trying to touch you which becomes easier and easier as his chain grows longer as time ticks on, you now had a bunch of people running from said Zombie (while trying to keep their ankles away from the chain in case the Zombie lunged). To make matters worse, this was the most malfunctioning room of the 40+ I've been to. First, there was some contraption that never worked - even the gamemaster who was also in the room admitted it wasn't working when he tried to assist. Then there was the lock that even when we got the code, multiple adults could not get to open. Finally, there was a briefcase that I kept opening with the wrong code -- which led the gamemaster to take it away and reset it. Now, since the wrong code continued to work, we had this push-and-pull thing go on for several iterations where he continued to take it away from me until someone found the right code in the room. I recommend against this place if you want a good escape room experience. As an aside, the best youth policy I've seen is if you're booking more than 2 children under a certain age, you must reserve the whole room. A policy like that would benefit this place! (I do not have suggestions for their lack of...
Read moreThis was a fun experience. I googled escape rooms and picked this one because you can also add on axe throwing afterwards. The zombie girl we had was really great. The mad scientist in the room with us was helpful. The guy overlooking the axe throwing was nice too. I picked this to do with my 15-year-old grandson and his friend, and my son. It was nice to see them working together to solve clues, which included some math, lots of reading, etc. The zombie room was great. The zombie lengthens her chain every 5 minutes so that it is more difficult to get away from her, but you can distract her by singing to her, telling her jokes, or stories. I think they are still trying to get everything together though, they only had a cooler with a few sodas and water and no food. No alcohol yet, but I saw a sign that it is coming soon. we will definitely return and try the 80's...
