I love this park subjectively and objectively. Objectively: there are so many different areas to explore including the oldest public rose garden in the USA, a majestic sprawling collection of flowers, including one area which contains a rose that has been alive (via cuttings) since 1600 AD. Objectively-furthermore, there were many friendly animals to observe including at least 7 different birds (ducks, geese, osprey, catbird, mockingbird, finch, cardinal, etc.). Objectively-further-still, there are many water features surrounded by well maintained paths and various intricate landscaping installments. Subjectively: I was just taken here by surprise on July 5th and I was blown away by the scents of the flowers, the sounds of the birds, the touch of the sunlight, the sight of many happy people, and the taste of one of my favorite kisses. Subjectively furthermore, my brother was married at the Pond House Cafe in February, 2019 and it was an excellent venue with very accommodating and expert service, and it would be farfetched for me to assume that I am capable enough with written words to properly describe how much I loved that wedding and this location...

We are blessed to live a block from this park in Hartfordâs Historic West End, and this park is a major attraction here. Plus, the vibrant West Hartford Center (rated #1 in CT) is roughly a mile West of this park, and Downtown Hartford is roughly two miles East of the park.
