It's a nice, quaint park. A great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a BBQ. With a nice playground for the kids, trails for hiking, pavilions, provided grills with hot coal bins, and little creeks during the spring. The only reason that I did not give this park 5-stsrs is because some of the people who rent the pavilions can be rude, anti-social dictators. My wife and I where just sitting in the pavilion, eating a sandwich, and we were told to, "Get the hell out because i have rented the pavilion." I understand when someone rents a space, however, do you need to yell and curse at me? Especially when I did not say a word to you?! Anyway, I believe that the park could divide the current pavilions, as many people who rent then don't use the whole thing. Also, the park could add a few more pavilions, and designate some of the pavilions as non-rental, open to the public. That way everyone could get the opportunity to enjoy them. In conclusion, this is a very nice park that deserves a...
Read moreOne of the most beautifully kept parks anywhere. It is nestled in a moderate sized valley by the Wabash river and offers a large play area, shelters for parties and cookouts, and walking, hiking, and jogging trails. There are paved and unpaved paths and a large field sizeable enough to play ultimate frisbee, fly a kite, set up Cornhole, and play a game of football all at the same time. City neighborhoods wrap around about 75% of the park along an upper ridge packed with forest. The park is everything within the basin. Always incredibly maintained to a degree that it is oil-painting worthy. The best part is that the manmade parts never interfere with the natural beauty, they always sustain it or amplify it. E.g. the reinforcing walls that maintain the hillside, or the set of stairs built over the eroded area where people climbed down leading to the dry creekbed.
An A+ park that should be...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised with the vastness of this park.
Off one of the main roads, you will find Happy Hollow Park Plaza tucked away. It sits neatly in town with enough distance not to hear cars driving past.
The playground is a great attraction to families while the trails offer shade to runners, walkers, and bikers.
There is a paved trail as well as many options for dirt paths. The trail breaks away and has a few options. I’m not quite sure how far it goes.
The dirt paths are spread throughout the park and offer elevation changes.
The park never feels too busy for visitors and there is always room to feel like you have the whole place to yourself.
I definitely recommend this place if you’re thinking about getting out and exploring nature or if you just want to take your dog for a walk.
Happy Hollow Park Plaza is definitely a...
