Excellent accessibility to the Wabash Heritage Trail which runs along the river, providing lush scenery and wildlife. The trail can be taken all the way to downtown Lafayette where it meets up with the pedestrian bridge (which you can take to the west side and continue your journey) and some of the local restaurants. Be sure to bring your wallet if you need a beer before the trek back! There's also a somewhat wooded, disc golf course tucked away from the highway that is also great just to walk. There's not as much shade on the course as there is on the trail, but on the trail you won't see as much of the sky. There's a very calming sense seclusion to it that is surprising so close to downtown and the highway. P.S. If the river has been high recently, bring mosquito spray. P.P.S If the river is VERY high, the park will likely not be open due to flooding.

Love taking my dog for a walk here. The trails skirt around the disk golf course and the river views are beautiful.

Beautiful set of disc golf courses on what used to be a municipal golf course. One course is on the golf course itself and the other is in the woods nearby. Always a group favorite. We make a point to play here...
