Cute little rest stop with a waterfall, walking bridge and a path to a few places along the site of an old wood mill that has since been knocked down. The foundation is seen in areas, giving the site a feel that there are stone ruins here. It is a mix of excited waters under the bridge, and if you follow the paths you'll find some calming waters leading up to the fall. There are some tricky places that make it hard for perso s with supportive mobility devices. It's actually kind hard just walking around there with two fully functional legs. Lots of roots sticking up in places, a challenge for little guys, but if they're the adventurous type,...

This is a very beautiful place and a great destination for a peaceful picnic or picture session, lots of scenic backdrops. Defiantly watch your footing because there are some slick spots and long drops but if you stick to the path you really don't have to worry about it. The only con is that it is a bit small the whole area you can walk on is about the size of a football field maybe a little shorter and wider. The foot path ends at a fork in the river right before the falls and you can't go any further up stream without getting wet. Pretty sure it's...

I certainly have never been to a rest area like this one!!! Soooooo cool :-). The water was really flowing and I believe I heard it before I saw it. I 'found' it bec I am a geocacher and someone made it an earthcache (no physical container to find - geology lesson).

I walked all around and even over to the other side. I loved how the waterfall went through (under) the stone bridge. It's soooooo beautiful here - everyone should stop :-D

(I did take TONS of pics but with a REAL camera and I have to figure out how to get them fr my computer to on...

A lovely spot to walk around and enjoy some nature. Beware, the bathroom was out of order when we went and the port-a-potty that was there instead had an unfortunate situation happening inside of it.... could just be bad timing on my part, and not a reflection of the rest area itself! Just up the road is a very clean gas station/ bathroom/ convenience store (the rusty lantern) which should make up for the lack of facilities at the rest area. Otherwise this was a great and easy walk along the river with a picnic area as well.

This is a very beautiful rest stop, which we have admired for decades. However, the old wooden railings have fallen and now there are places children could be in danger of falling into the rapid water. The bridge has new fence type railing which is high and safe. If you plan to go across the bridge, keep children close at hand. There are no safety warnings posted, yet a rescue team was recently dispatched to recover a girl who had fallen in the water and could not climb back up on her own.
