For my lazy Sunday outing I chose to take a trek to Inniswood for the first time. It did not disappoint at all.
The park is meticulously maintained and is one of the finer metro parks I’ve been to in the Columbus area.
There’s multiple short trails to choose from that are approximately 0.6 mi or less. Most of which are ADA compliant.
The waterfalls are small but perfect as they create a pleasant sound backdrop to the experience. Many folks there today had their cameras to shoot, which didn’t surprise me one bit.
The plants and flowers are fantastically colorful and selected to support a bountiful host of our pollinator friends 🐝🦋. Personally bees scare me, but that’s another story for another time.
On the way out (that I missed going in) was a sign about tick safety. Personally this is important as I dealt with Lyme Disease for over a decade (which was a costly hell I don’t wish upon my worst enemy). Over 50% of people don’t recall a tick bite and some can be as small as a pinhead (baby nymphs). I’d love to have taken the trails with the overhead trees, however not having a hat or long sleeves on, with higher tick rates this year, I’m a bit too afraid, which sucks because everything looked pretty and peaceful.
If you’ve not been, bring your camera and check out Inniswood for a delightful...
Read moreThis is an absolutely gorgeous park to come for a stroll. It’s a staple for many local high schoolers and wedding parties to take pictures. There are several arches, several ponds, bridges and a wood “path” on top of the many types of flowers to enhance your sensory and photography experience.
As an amateur photographer it’s a great place to get some practice with nature and natural light. As a pro it’s a great place to bring your subjects for some modeling.
As a random stroller it’s a beautiful ambiance and a nice set of circular paths to control the distance you want to walk. Even when it’s busy the noise just seems to dissipate. There are both open fields and tree covered areas for everyone pleasure.
If you’re into Pokémon go this is one of the best nests in Columbus. Plenty of stops and gyms and the length of the main loop makes it perfect for community days and other events as you will see new spawns each time you walk around.
All around great park. The staff is always courteous and helpful and the bathrooms have always...
Read moreGorgeous. It is a beautifully sectioned and extremely well kept garden. I went there with my friends and my toddler. we took her stroller on trails and it was smooth to navigate. She loved the green space and golden sunshine. Good weather plays the lead role to let you enjoy this beauty. Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses if you are visiting on a sunny day. Trails may not always have shade from trees. They have placed benches on some spots to let you take rest, feel the nature and of course, click pictures. Park wasn't overcrowded, we enjoyed walking while peacefully reading the informative stuff about what they have grown. we got so lucky to find an owl, the little guy was chilling on a lower branch of tree and posing 360° for all the people around. It was big and beautiful. Luckily, we didn't find any photographers blocking every other spot. People were clicking pictures but they were not taking very long. Over all it was great experience. I would love to...
