I rode my mountain bike from the Kanan parking lot to the Corral Canyon trail head and back. Round trip is about 12.5 miles with 2,500 feet of elevation gain in total. It took me about 2 hours of riding time (not including breaks). I would say that more than 50% of the trail is shaded and covered with thick chapparel, tree canopy and lots and lots of poison oaks! After the 2016-2017 rainy season parts of the trail became rutted and eroded, but nothing that prevents you from hiking/biking it. Read moreWhat a wonderful access trail, the parking lot is large enough to generally accommodate the morning/afternoon crowd and the trail is very easily accessible. There seems to be a waterfall not too far from the trail, however it is not accessible as there is a sign saying to stay on the designated trails to protect the habitat. However if you do come after rainfall, and walk about 1.75 miles along the you will be able to veer off to see two twin waterfalls which were pretty relaxing. Read moreWhat a lush trail! Flowers were in bloom. The waterfall was running, the streams were flowing. We had a great hike. Temperature can vary greatly, so dress in layers. Wished we had brought ponchos because it started to rain toward the end, but not a big deal. Can easily be hiked in sneakers but trail shoes would have been better.
