Extremely Disappointing Experience – Be Warned
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this golf course truly earned it. What should have been an enjoyable round turned into a 6-hour slog thanks to the course’s blatant overbooking and poor scheduling. Tee times are stacked far too close together, leading to constant backups on nearly every hole.
The worst part? Their money-grabbing twilight hour deal. As we made the turn onto the back 9, we were suddenly stuck behind several freshly sent-out foursomes—clearly squeezed in to maximize revenue with zero regard for pace of play or the experience of those already on the course.
It’s clear the management prioritizes profit over player experience. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone who values their time or enjoys the game as it’s meant...
Read moreWe played the course on a cool, sunny September day. It is, of course, and Oakland County "Oaks" course. The pro shop is modest, the staff friendly. The course is well-maintained, altho balls marks were a problem, specially on the longer holes. The course is short and fun to play, with few challenging holes and little change in elevation. The par 5s are all birdie holes; in contrast, the par 3s were longer than usual. The greens are generally generous in size and in very good to excellent condition. All in all, the course is a good bargain and fun. Not for the scratch golfer but a fun round of golf at a modest price. I'd golf there again - in fact, this was my third visit and I live in southern Wayne county,...
Read moreBunch of older retired people work here and they are extremely rude. You show up here on Sunday afternoon and they have nobody waiting to play yet they still degrade you for not making a tee time. Oakland County does a decent job of taking care of this place however in the recent heatwave they have not watered and some of the fairways are badly burnt up in spots. This is a local municipal course and you are always going to get walk on traffic. In my eyes Oakland County would make more money on this place if they replaced the employees with people that are nicer. Or if they send the current ones to anger management training and teach them to be happy...
