This is my first time visiting, so I don't have much to compare it to. Pros: our hotel room was clean, and the floor we were on was quiet. Nice bathroom and large TV. The casino is extremely clean and its fairly easy to navigate. Bathrooms in the casino were also nice and clean. The bartenders I interacted with were really friendly. My mixed drink wasn't great so I got beer the rest of the night and of course I can't complain about that!! Cons: the casino closes at midnight! That was probably the biggest disappointment of all. I've never been to a casino that closed so early. I got in trouble for taking a photo of my sister! It is her first time ever coming to a casino and I was excited to document it. We weren't even near any machines so I have no idea what the problem was with that. I don't smoke so I personally don't care about the no smoking inside rule, but my mom was super mad about it. We have also never been to a casino where you can't smoke inside. Again, this doesn't affect me and I was personally glad to not have to breathe it in all night, but I'm sure this is a definite turnoff for some people. The bartenders were the only friendly staff I interacted with. Everyone else seemed miserable. I lost a ton of money lol not surprised there though. The most I won on one spin was 15 bucks. I have another full day here, so we will see how it goes. It may go better or worse, but as of night one, I definitely would say 3/5.

It's a nice casino and hotel. We went on Labor Day weekend and most of it was good. Nice slots machines. A high tech craps table that was really cool. A small high roller slot machine room was nice. They had a separate smoking area with slot machines that was separate from the main casino that was nice too. Checking into the hotel we were lucky enough to get a front desk lady were an attitude. She insisted we give her the name of every person staying in the hotel room. Weird. Especially since later on in the night when other people were checking in they didn't ask that question at all. The buffet was a THREE HOUR WAIT! So that sucked we couldn't eat there. So we went to bourbon 72. Told us at 8 pm unless we had a reservation we weren't eating there. Wasn't too nice about it. So we went to the deli. It was over priced pre-made food. Not worth it. Should of just left the casino and went out to eat. Obviously the restaurants are not equipped for busy weekends. The hotel room itself was really nice and clean. They provided soaps and shampoos. Nice lighting. Everything was nice. One weird thing was you could be sitting on the toilet and if someone opens the door to your room you can see people walking by in the hall clearly because of the huge gap in the bathroom door that doesn't really close because it's a rolling hanging door. The casino was good overall. We had a great time.

When I tell you ā€œTurtle Creek Resort and Casino for the win,ā€ I’m not kidding!! First and foremost, in an area where it was almost impossible to find any vacancy whatsoever for one weekend night in one of the hottest vacation spots in the state of Michigan (Traverse City) we were astonished to find out they had only a handful of rooms left. So when we heard they had a king corner bedroom, we pounced on it!! |We were checked in by Ethan, who could not have been any nicer! He was courteous and professional to an absolute ā€œT!ā€ When we went up to our room, it was what we would’ve hope to have seen at the Tru by Hilton in Traverse City. Our room at the Turtle Creek Resort Hotel was absolutely spotless and in impeccable condition!! Not to mention the room was equipped with state of the art furnishings and technology. It’s the type of hotel level I would put on par with JW Marriott. In fact, ironically speaking, you were going to need that type of money to stay there. Room was $592 a day plus tax! YIKES!!! So you better make sure you bring your wallet!|All that being said, we definitely did enjoy our stay in the amenities. Caleb was great so the check-in experience was awesome. (Housekeeping) was also nice. I managed to her before I left. I forgot the name of the young lady, but she did a very good job. In my book, these folks make this place 5/5.|However, I am going to have to take off one point for the following:|- During check out, I feel like the lady, named Melissa, was rude to me during check out. When we were checking out, we mentioned we left the two bottle waters in our room. Melissa mentioned they were free. We then said we didn’t know that and asked if we could have two more to go in that case. The lady next to her said ā€œsure, we have some behind the desk.ā€ Melissa said ā€œ no, they have to just go upstairs and go get the ones in the room.ā€ my girlfriend, and I looked at each other and decided to just go upstairs and get the waters in order to just keep the peace. However, later, we just felt like it was rude of her. It didn’t take away from the entire experience, but it did sort of leave a bad taste.|- Parking: if you are staying there, make sure you park sooner than later for the night. Otherwise you have to park all the way on the other side of the property in the casino parking. It is an absolute nightmare! Lol!||All in all! I would say I highly HIGHLY recommend the Turtle Creek Resort and Casino! It’s a massive property with lots to do, a beautiful hotel where you can relax for the night and most of all…. It has a rich heritage with a story...

I came in with a group of 7. Security ID'd all of us and we all went through the promotions desk. We separated and I went up the escalators, came back down and was stopped by one of the promotions people and was told security needed to check my bag. I walked back over to him and opened it so he could check it. He said I couldn't have it and needed to turn it in to promotions to hold it. I said there are other bags larger than mine. He said those are purses. To which I said mine is also a purse (technically an adidas drawstring, but smaller than many "purses" on the floor). He said no it's not, rudely. I went to the promotions desk. The first lady I spoke with said I'd have to take my bag to the gift shop to hold until 9 and then they'd close and bring it to promotions. I asked if I could speak to a manager to keep my bag since I've seen bigger ones on the floor. She got short with me and pointed to the lady next to her and said she's the manager and you can wait for her. I wanted to speak with her. She told me she can't make any other decisions and security is the ones to make the call. To which I gave up, rode the bus to my vehicle and dropped off my bag. Came back, since my group was all still in the building. Went into the gift shop and someone with a similar bag was having their bag searched by security (in the gift shop!) and security simply said we just needed to check the contents and handed it back to the guy. I said "they let you keep you bag?! I just had to take mine out to my car". After telling my story to the lady at the register, the worker at the register said that she's seen other people with drawstring bags and even asked security and security said they were fine. I felt really crappy that many people had larger bags and similar bags and were fine, but somehow I got picked on for my bag, WELL after I had gone thru security and they IDd my entire group and I offered to let them look thru my bag. Totally made me feel like they were criminalizing me and treating me very poorly. I chose not to spend any money there and wouldn't have stayed if it weren't for my group. What a crappy customer service...

Edit 9/17/22 it's now been a month since I called and left the marketing team two messages and emailed as well. They leave a number but no name to contact. We have a free night at the Grand Traverse resort Sunday 9/18/22 that we earned with our play but pretty sure we will drive to Little River to do our gambling. We really hate it when places try to sound apologetic and tell you to call and discuss then no one will ever talk to you let alone return messages.

We spent $89 to upgrade our free room to a suite only to get a room with badly peeling paint, carpet that's falling apart, light bulbs missing, etc.... Understandable that they didn't want to fix up the rooms when they are doing a complete remodel in 6 months but don't charge people for upgrades like that then. Turtle Creek used to have people that actually cared about the players and their experiences but apparently that's long gone at this point.

Edit 8/14/22 review changed to four stars. we received our flyer for September and see they are closing the hotel this month for remodeling so I can see why they were letting things go. Still not happy with paying the $89 for an upgrade to a suite that was in that condition but can see why now that things were let go like that. I did call that phone number and left a message on the marketing voice mail. Miranda at the hotel didn't know who I should talk to so she transferred me to Jeremiah at the players club and he transferred me to the marketing department....LoL And that's where I left the voice mail.

Original review with 3 stars. We used to love going here and still enjoy the gambling end of things however they've really let the hotel go downhill for some reason. We always stay overnight because we live almost 3 hours away. Our visit on 4/16/22, Paint was peeling badly on the bathroom ceiling, the carpet was coming apart and the bed was like a concrete pad.... It was very clean so nothing against the housekeeping crew and gambling is gambling but come on get some...
