I’d purchased a ride on Doc through a benefit auction. Communication with management to redeem the voucher was very difficult. In the end, things worked out and leadership went to great efforts to “make things right“. The ride on ‘Doc’ was a remarkable experience and a wonderful tribute to those who’ve served, fought and restored the flying museum.

Pros: Aircraft is beautifully restored. The flight isn’t a ride, it’s an experience. Pilots were very knowledgeable and enthusiastically explained details about Doc. The museum is small but has great details on Doc’s story and the restoration process. Honored an expired ride voucher.

Cons: Communication with management was very difficult. Nearly 2 months w/o communication and 3 unreturned emails left me unsure if my Doc ride would happen. Management was aware I’d be traveling from out of state to redeem the voucher which added anxiety & frustration to the situation. Days before the flight occurred was my seat finally confirmed.

The lack of communication would deter me from doing another Doc flight; however, I’m grateful management honored an expired voucher. Experiencing Doc from the skies was an incredible...

I had my 19 yr old Non verbal autistic nephew excited about going and seeing DOC on Sunday 5-29-25. We showed up at 1:10 p.m. and was unable to get in. With that being said, he got vary upset. It put a vary bitter taste in my mouth. If I were able to give a half star, I would do it in an instant. After all the years I've heard about DOC and never was able to see it, I was extremely excited myself. Plus being able to see it flying for the first time, as a vet, gave me a heightened sense of pride. That was all destroyed when I was not able to follow through in letting my nephew see the aircraft. I thought the public was able to get a chance to see the iconic aircraft. I was not sure of an admission fee but was prepared to pay it. I understand the cost of the upkeep and housing of such a beautiful aircraft. In my eyes and heart, that thought has been destroyed. I wish nothing but the best for DOC, but have to say, thanks...

My family drove down to Wichita to see Doc on Saturday June 8th. We arrived and we were not greeted, and the employee was just rude, rude, rude.. Everyone in my family agreed we will not go back.

I see your reply...and I assure you it is difficult to make 3 adults in my family unhappy enough to write a public review!!!! Also, we did not ask for a cockpit tour...we just asked if we could go into see Doc your volunteer had a snotty reply...something to the effect that we would have to pay to go in...which of course we were prepared to do....there was some talk of them just giving rides that day...which was not advertised as only rides that day So, get your advertisements correct..and by the way..I have a volunteer job and I would bever act...

I expected a small scale museum focused on keeping a vintage warbird flying. And it checked that box, that's for sure. Doc is in incredible condition even discounting the fact that it's flight worthy. What I wasn't expecting was a personal, 1 on 1 tour from one of the volunteers. Tim was a wonderful guide and I thoroughly appreciated the extra knowledge he passed along. And for only 15 dollars I got a hands on, intricate walk around of an incredible airplane. I planned on spending maybe an hour tops, but it came out to almost 3 and I don't regret it for a second.

What a great museum dedicated to a single aircraft! Very knowledgeable volunteer staff of guides who work on the aircraft and operate it. The day I was here, I was fortunate enough to arrive on a day it was flying after winter maintenance. They left the hangar doors open and let everyone stay past the museum hours (9am-2pm Tues, Thurs, Sat) to watch the engine starts, and watch DOC taxi out and takeoff! Very cool! Facility is awesome, the story of the work it took to make this museum a possibility is truly amazing!

The B-29 Doc Hanger, Education Center is an amazing place! The hanger is done up very well! With all the history of Doc from beginning to end with pictures, videos, and documents of its restoration journey. It's so wonderful that they restored this beautiful airplane!! The staff members are very nice and friendly!! It's really great to see that it sits on the grounds of the Dwight Eisenhower Airport. To see Doc fly and the other historic airplanes were so cool!! This is a great place to visit!!
