AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN
I took my father in for a simple hem job on his suit top and bottom. He did not take it in from the sides or anything else. Simply hemmed the bottom of the pants and the sleeves 3 inches. He fit us in same day so we figured there would be an up-charge. On average a simple single stitch hem job costs between $10-30 per garment. The suit was a Kenneth Cole suit nothing fancy and didn’t require special stitching or thread as it was a common navy blue suit. He charge my father $80 and would not give my father the price until after the job was complete at pick up. He did not give us the price when we asked after he took my dad’s measurements of how much he’d have to hemh he just said we’d know at pick up(which by the way not a lot was hemmed.) We figured at most it would cost $50-60 since it was same day. I do want to mention I called the establishment beforehand inquiring his availability and said we could do Monday/Tuesday but ultimately was up to him and his soonest convenience. As a small business it is in such bad taste to overcharge and price gauge due to New years… New Years is literally 5 days away today is 12/27/24 it seems to us that he definitely up-charged due to New Years…again $80 though is ridiculous. Very bad customer service and experience in that aspect because he definitely overcharged even if it was hemmed the same day. It was not a complicated sewing job it was fairly simple nd he could have simply turned us away if he didn’t want to add to his work load (if any - I’m assuming he didn’t have much work considering he took us in…) Not disclosing costs until after the job is complete is not honest business. He charged $20 to hem the pants and $60 to hem the sleeves of the suit top which makes me believe he charged $30 per sleeve. I will definitely be calling the BBB and reporting this establishment for the lack of disclosure of prices until after the work...

Read morePros: Successfully had my suit pants and jacket tailored. Took less than a week to get back.
Cons: It smelled like cigarette smoke when I got it back -- when I called to notify him he simply said 'it shouldn't' and to bring it back to steam the smell out. I would caution if you're not white going in this place, it unfortunately seems like it could be an issue based on the comments he made regarding people simply...
