The animals here are wonderful and amazing and I absolutely loved seeing them. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into creating their habitats.

I was lucky enough to get to visit this place twice. The first time was magical and delightful. Unfortunately, my second visit I was really disappointed with the way a couple of the employees acted towards me. That is the only reason for the lower rating.

If I was rating the animals alone, I would give this experience a 5. Some of the employees were super sweet and would also get a 5. However, a couple of people were so short-tempered and rude that I felt sad and brokenhearted after my second visit. For that, I am extremely disappointed.

I have had a stroke and I do not move very fast and I do not have the best sense of direction. I told one employee that I was having trouble finding things and he very sweetly pointed me in the right direction and said not to worry that I had time to see the foxes and then come and see the jaguars. I tried to hurry and then another female employee came after me and said in an angry tone "well do you want to see the jaguars or not?" I said yes, but I could not find the red fox. I was having trouble finding it as it did not seem to be where it said it was on the map. She did not offer to help. I did see the red fox as I was about to give up. Then I asked her how to get to the jaguars. She snapped at me saying "they are in the same place they were last week." She then walked off, refusing to help me.

It is true that I had been there 1 time prior, but I was with my husband then and he has a great sense of direction and he was able to help me find things during my first visit. This time, I was alone and getting curt and angry responses and refusal to help. That was really hurtful to me.

I may have been a little faster had this employee actually nicely answered my questions instead of being rude and refusing to be helpful. I did manage to see the jaguars and elk.

I walked back into the gift shop just before they closed, prior to 5:30pm, and I wanted to buy 1 thing. I took it to the register, which they had shut down early, prior to 5:30pm. They said sorry the register is already closed. I asked if I could come by tomorrow, on our way out of town, and was told I would have to pay another entry fee to be able to buy this 1 item or I could pay for shipping. I was amazed that the employees were not more kind and helpful. I guess they wanted to leave themselves by 5:30pm and not remain open until 5:30pm.

A couple of the employees were very kind and helpful today. The sweet woman at the last gate of the drive-through section was very cheerful and sweet and kind. The male employee who told me that I had time to see the foxes and the jaguars and showed me where to go, when I told him that I had a bad sense of direction, was also very sweet and kind.

Unfortunately, not all of the employees were on the same page and the one woman was extremely short and unkind and refused to help by telling me how to get to the red fox or the jaguars when I asked. If I had been given the help that I requested, instead of rude responses and refusal to help, I may have been finished earlier. I hope that if other guests with disabilities visit the park, the last 2 female employees that I saw will be a little kinder and more helpful to them. Hopefully, those guests will not leave the park feeling hurt and disrespected. Even if a guest may have been to the park 1 time prior to their current visit, it does not mean they automatically know where everything is or have the map memorized. People who have had a stroke may struggle with things like directions and telling them that something is in the same place it was last time, while refusing to help point the guest in the right direction, is a very poor choice...

We went up for my daughter-in-law‘s birthday on a Sunday. I think we got there early enough to beat the crowds because cars didn’t pile in behind us until probably a quarter of the way through the drive. There seem to be plenty of parking. Staff was friendly. Actually really didn’t need to encounter them too much. We saw they had bus tours we wish we had taken one just so that we could’ve been given some information and fed the bison. All the animals looked very healthy. Most of them look like they had plenty of space. There were a few exhibits With animals missing not sure what that was about. The grounds could probably use a little maintenance, but I’m sure that costs a lot of money. The souvenir shop is huge and if you can’t find a souvenir, you’re crazy. It seems very reasonably priced as well. I believe I saw where wheelchairs and strollers were courtesy free, which is fantastic for families. It was easy to find your way around. Unfortunately, we did not get to eat, but we did go in and look at the restaurant and it is gorgeous inside a very unique setting. I have never been close to open Range bears like that, and to look up and see them hanging over your vehicle in trees with their little paws dangling was incredible. If you are into photography, this will give you a fantastic opportunity to photograph some wildlife. It was slightly overcast and 81° so the temperatures could not have been better and we are thinking that probably around Thanksgiving to Christmas. It’s likely the place is pretty lit up with lights and would be really pretty. If you’re looking for a good family adventure not overly expensive but not necessarily cheap what I recommend is if you’re looking to do it on a budget eat before you enter the park or eat after you leave the park because food is going to add to the cost. But otherwise you’re using your own vehicle and your own 2 feet And the kids love seeing the animals. My aunt is elderly and has been there before in her 80s and was able to get around just fine. Definitely worth the drive if you’re from the Phoenix metro. Afterwards, there’s plenty of shops to hit for antiques nearby to make it a full day adventure or whole weekend. My favorite was probably seeing the badgers and the...

This drive-through zoo delivered one of the most incredible animal encounters I've ever experienced. Now I am itching to do a safadi in Africa. What sets this place apart is its sanctuary-based mission, which creates an environment where animals can thrive in spacious, naturalistic habitats rather than traditional zoo enclosures. You can genuinely feel the difference in how the animals behave and interact when they have room to roam and express their natural behaviors.

The drive-through portion was absolutely the highlight of our visit. Being able to observe wildlife from the comfort of your vehicle allows for extended viewing without disturbing the animals, and you'll be amazed at how close some species will come to your car out of curiosity. The experience feels authentic and immersive in a way that traditional zoos rarely achieve. We spent hours slowly cruising through different habitat zones, each offering its own unique ecosystem and resident species.

While the walk-through sections were also enjoyable and provided great opportunities for closer observation and photography, the drive-through experience was truly unparalleled. There's something magical about watching animals go about their daily routines in what feels like their natural world.

A crucial tip for future visitors: timing is everything. Plan your visit during the animals' most active periods - typically early morning or late afternoon. We noticed a dramatic difference in animal activity levels depending on the time of day, with many species much more engaged and visible during these cooler hours.

This sanctuary offers an educational and deeply moving experience that goes far beyond typical zoo visits. Knowing that your admission supports their conservation and rescue efforts makes the experience even more meaningful. I left feeling both entertained and enlightened about wildlife conservation. This is a must-visit destination that I'll absolutely return to and recommend to anyone who appreciates wildlife and...
