Mountain Meadow Preserve — Attraction in Williamstown

We were staying at the Villager Motel nearby, a good place for cheap and cheerful access to Williamstown and environs and noticed this ToR property almost across the street. It was wonderful on a wintry day for exploring. We wandered up into Vermont and back. We avoided the Summit trail on the way up, but I chose it on the way back, wearing my microspikes for traction - and I'm glad I did. Though the 'summit' isn't open, you can just about see through the trees. Best views are in the meadow's high spot. The ruins of the 'camp' are worth seeing, too. I can see how this preserve could be spectacular at certain times, but today wasn’t itsday.

The meadow was short, scrubby, and freshly mown yet the grass on the trail was long. It looked like where I would go to take photos to illustrate an educational brochure on Lyme Disease.
