My eight year old daughter really wanted to try the free fall experience at the creation musuem. We thought it was pretty safe. The first staff member didnt know how to harness our daughter and it took another staff member to help. Once on top the staff member rigging up my daughter did not secure his safety strap properly and accidently wrapped it around my daughters jump line. When my daughter ealked off the safety line caught the jump line and swung my faughter towrds the wood structure. She forcefully fell on the lower decking. In my opinion, this was an accident but negligent. I called the manager the next morning to talk. The first manager on shift did not know there was an incident. This tells me the organization did not care about the issue. I adked for a call back. They did but the second manager did not offer an apology again...as a customer I felt they did not care. I did ask for more training for the staff. Since you have to sign the waiver and take full responsibility please do not trust this company with your daughters life. I have a full detailed video of incident to show the major errors. We rushed our daughter to the ER. Nothing broken. Praise God. Remember its all at our expense if something happens not the companies or employees fault. Dont trust this company. Find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDid the Screaming Eagle Level 1 today as I visited the Ark Encounter for like the 3rd or 4th time. Didnāt plan on doing zip lines, but my momās friend wanted to do the obstacle course. I chose to do the zip line and had low expectations as they advertise 4 yr olds can do this lol. I gotta say, it was wayyy more intense than I expected. Iām a coaster enthusiast, so I love adrenaline, but standing heights arenāt really my thing. But this was sooooo much fun! Youāre up high and the towers will sway if the wind is blowing and it was gusting hard today. Our guides were amazing though! They were patient enough with the ten year old we had with us, yet challenging enough for crazies like me lol. I even raced the guide on the last zip line because I was last to go on each zip line. Btw, there are 5 lines on the level 1. I canāt wait to try the next level as they are even longer and higher. It def takes effort and concentration to get it right and not just rely on the guide to save you, although they will. My only suggestion is that maybe they should show a small video of the obstacle course beforehand, as it seems very challenging for small kids or older people not in shape. It will kick your butt and thatās just level 1. I did not do it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had an awesome time with the great guides Andrew and Isaiah. The zip lines were fast and easy to ride at the same time; the take off was a lot more smooth than I expected. Personally, I enjoyed roughing up the landings a bit, but there was even a grandmother who came on the level 1 course and did just fine.
When we were signing up, there was a young boy who didn't make the 75lb minimum weight, and was pretty bummed out about it. (Physics is pretty important in the whole zip line experience, so it you don't weigh enough you'll just get stuck in the middle of the lines). Also, we heard some stories about folks who had trouble stopping at the end of the line, which is why it's important that about 275lb is the top weight allowed on the lines.
You'll need to fill out the waiver forms ahead of time (or can at the guest services building). Also, it's a good idea to not take anything with you that could fall or drop along the trip, they say you'll probably never find it again...
Last thing, you will have an opportunity to tip the guides if you feel like you had a really amazing experience (which can be done at guest services too), so you could plan accordingly.
Overall pitch: definitely a would do, and...
