This is a great dog park! The one parallel with the parking lot is larger and tends to have larger dogs in it (though all sizes are welcome!) while the one farthest from the parking lot is smaller and usually has small dogs or dogs with issues or in training. While there is plenty of conversing going on, the owners all seem very attentive to their dogs and are quick to jump in if they see something might be about to break out. It's really a great place to bring the dog loving community of Windsor together. The only downside is that there's no water available so local dog owners try to keep a steady supply available. Hopefully one day the town will find the funds to bring some water to the poor parched puppers! 🐕🐩🐶
In comparison to Watson Dog Park (WRJ) and Shaker Dog Park (Enfield, NH) this park has less shade than Watson but more shade than Shaker. In the Winter, they all seem to become equally treacherous once the snow melts and then refreezes as a solid chunky mass. This Park is the least likely to be closed and has the least wet / moist ground. Hopefully some of that...

However...given it's a town park and no "Friends of..." with memberships, it's not self-policing for people breaking rules. Here's my list during one visit: 3 intact male dogs, one dog never let off the leash, 5-6yr old inside being rambunctious, and some guy who left LEFT ALL THE GATES OPEN as he just walked out. What the heck? No empowerment for anyone to be like, "Hey, like NO."
So, visitor...
Read moreWonderful dog park. We took both of our huskies and they had so much fun. Met some other well behaved puppers as well. Two areas, one for large dogs another for small.
Seems it's not maintained fully in winter, the small dog area has been locked up with ice since winter set in. We use the larger side though and always have a blast, especially...
