Southwestern College — Attraction in Winfield

I attended Southwestern College Professional Studies as an active duty military student, starting in 2012. I graduated with a BS in Computer Programming Technology (CPT) in May 2021. SCKans claims to be military friendly, yet disenrolled me and deleted my previous major, Computer Operations Technology, with only 4 classes remaining for my degree. During this time I was in Professional Military Education for two 1-year courses, back to back, so they dropped me. I reenrolled and completed CPT (starting over). I should have graduated with a GPA around 3.9, give or take. But since I used the AU-ABC program and transferred credits from community college 20 years ago (only 3 classes were applied to my SCKans degree), they chose to include unused courses on my transcript, resulting in a sub-3.5 GPA, destroying some further education goals I have. The college refused to fix this, claiming that I should have contacted them earlier than 2-days prior to conferral. I would have, had I have known. You see, their e-mail domain is blocked by Google and Air Force systems, and so the forwarded messages did not arrive. I explained that I was fine with a decertifying and graduating later but no help was given. I was told I should be happy to graduate. Through long hours, deployments, and raising a family, I have devoted countless extra hours for the honors I never received. I will be writing my education center to let them know this, along with anyone else that will listen. If you are Air Force, and are considering attending this school with the AU-ABC program, consider my experience first. All of that said, the instructors were fine. My husband graduated here as a returning student. I went after high school and my father went back before the Korean war. I am glad it is here. I hope it rejuvenates its arts programs though! WINFIELD is known for Art, Music, Theater!!! without the arts what would our world look like? History is important, know your History!!! or the past will repeat and bite you in the back seat.... Without the ballance of intelligence and artistic release who are we??? Please Southwestern look at what your doing? Or have done i guess, all the arts gone? Am I wrong? After all the money spent fixing the auditoriums and organ??? Gone ( :( ) ballance gone? Our country is realing from imbalance of power is it not??? Students need to learn more than just math and football... or money... We have been forced with standardized testing to chase Chinese ways... Art teaches students how to figure things out for themselves... scarry thought... Know your History!!! Or am I wrong?...

This is my college...If you want an awesome education with a small town atmosphere you have to check it out..

The only thing that big city people going there had a hard time with was the small town...

We used to tell them, the crime rate is low, you can walk freely to many little places and it only takes 5 to 10 minutes to get across town in a vehicle to Wal-Mart or Dillons...or fast food...

BURGER Station beats out any any any Burger 🍔 joint... they have been known to mail their burgers all over the world...
