West Orange Trail — Attraction in Winter Garden

It’s one of my favorites, but I wish all the cyclists would respect the rules and call out when they’re passing. I saw so many cyclists zipping by without saying a word on what I’d consider a very busy part of the trails (by plant st and Oakland). As someone who both walks and bikes it, it’s a pretty trail that is rather extensive and varied as it goes on the underside of Lake Apopka and then west to Clermont or north through Apopka. Rode this trail today with a group of 7 starting from the apex at Rock Springs Rd and W. Welch Rd. in Apopka. The ride was 41 miles roundtrip as we rode into downtown Winter Garden, FL which made the trip well worth it. Winter Garden is a quaint historic town with many restaurants and shops. The trail was excellent with lots of shade and a nice restroom along the way. Will definitely ride it...

Great trail! We like riding from Oakland to downtown Winter Garden, FL (10 miles). The ride is mostly shaded with several benches and some water fountains.
