Penobscot Bay Estate — Attraction in Winterport

It is hard to put into words how special this venue is. My husband and I toured the property with Emerald back in November 2022 and instantly fell in love with it -- it was the second venue we saw, and we didn't see any others after. There was something about Emerald's genuine care for the space and for the couples that she worked with that really stood out to us. She has a deep connection to the property and we watched her build it up into the masterpiece it is today. We got married in May 2024, and it was truly the best day of our lives. The view, the ceremony space, the reception tent, the getting-ready areas -- all of it was so full of charm and so stunningly beautiful. Our wedding party stayed in the four cabins and we stayed in the adorable honeymoon suite. When we arrived for our wedding weekend, we looked at the view and made a vow to return to this place when we could. We were able to use a golf cart to transport decorations (and people) around the property, which was a life safer! In addition to the spectacular setting, Emerald's commitment is unmatched. She communicated with us consistently throughout the 1.5 years we spent planning and answered all of our (many, many) questions promptly. She sent us little gifts, solicited feedback from us about new property changes, and connected us with other amazing vendors. Her husband Kurt was also incredibly kind and so helpful on our wedding day. Bonus: their kids are adorable!! My husband and I could not have picked a better spot to have our wedding. The property itself was gorgeous and provided endless space for pictures and celebration. The house was perfect and had so much space to get ready for the day and get some really wonderful pictures. And the new speakeasy that was built in the basement is straight out of a movie! Emerald provided many opportunities to explore the property and answer any questions we had as we continued to plan which really helped as we were coming from out of state.

What really made this venue stand out was how often Emerald went above and beyond to make our special day go the way we envisioned. Emerald was always ready to help us with anything even if it was at the last second and more than that never made us feel rushed or asking too much. She even helped prepare food for our nieces and nephews during the reception when we realized it hadn't been made yet and gave the kids golf cart rides before everything started to help keep them entertained! Emerald brought nothing but positive energy the whole time on a very hectic and busy day.

I had my wedding here in June 2025 and PBE was the perfect wedding venue for us and Emerald is absolutely wonderful to work with. The property is stunning right on the water and makes a beautiful backdrop for pictures, ceremony, and reception. The ceremony is right on the water and the reception was in a brand new sailcloth tent with the water in the background. You have the whole property from Thursday to Sunday which makes it feel like a weekend getaway with your friends and family, especially with the cute and cozy cottages on the property that we used to house our bridal party for the weekend. Emerald makes wedding planning easy. She is incredibly responsive, accommodating, recommends vendors in all categories, and does everything possible to make your special day perfect. Emerald is so passionate about the venue and it so clearly shows. Emerald also added a speak easy this year which was the perfect addition that we used for Thursday night with our bridal party / family and used it for our afterparty the night of the wedding.
