Went to Fay's Marina in Gilford to meet a friend with a 26 foot sloop moored in the Fays Basin. Walked past all the pretty motor and sailing yachts with dockage to the AquaUber pickup spot (yes I inventeed that term). A very nice young man loaded we three and our stuff onto his water taxi and safely delivered us to Ron's boat. It's the white sailboat if you want to check it out! We motored out through a well arranged bunch or moored boats to the open lake for hours of fun in the sun.
On returning, our friendly AquaUber guy saw us and offered to come back for us when we wanted, which was ten minutes. He did, and provided a safe ride back to the dock. Having been afloat for 4 hours in a "headless" boat we welcomed the free rest rooms Fays provided in their free parking area. Since Fays is very close to Laconia Airport, we had been watching the corporate jets landing rock stars for the Fruday night Meadowbrook concert and realized what a great location Fays has.

Read moreI retired here in 2012 after visiting here my whole life. I knew from an early age that I would some day live in NH's Lakes Region, and I am blessed to own a home on the Lake. To me, there is nothing better. We have it all, year round. The people are friendly, shopping is great (no tax!) and the restaurants are awesome! There's always something to do: boating, swimming, lounging at the beach, the Country's oldest Motorcycle Rally AKA Bike Week, beautiful leaves in the Fall, and great Winter activities too! Pond Hockey Tournament, Fishing Derby, Sled Dog Races, skiing, skating, etc. It's...
