Beautiful lake. Hmmmm. Shhhhh. Is this where one may find Bigfoot or Sasquatch? I believe that it could be.

This is on your way up through the mountains to the top of Pike's Peak. They have signs up the mountain to find this creature and if you come back down the mountain during daylight then you will see the sign pointing to Bigfoot. It's pretty neat to see but is a very clever ploy and another effort to get tourists to stop and buy. Check it out if you want.

The lake you will cross over the dam. To really get a good view then you'll have to stop and get out and walk around a bit. ...

The Pikes Peak lakes are a hidden gem near Colorado Springs. Most people have no idea this lakes exists. If you take the Pikes Peak Hwy, "not" to Pikes Peak, just tell the Park Ranger your only going to the lakes to fish or hike, then you can go do some excellent trout fishing on North or South Catamount Reservoirs and some excellent hiking too. It only cost about $7 per person to fish or hike. Take plenty of water and pack a lunch. There are no food concessions up there. Have fun! Also, "Pack out what you pack in!" Do not leave trash and mess it up...

A long day going up to the summit of Pikes Peak. Stopped on the way back at the reservoir. Nice trails and a nice looking lake. They only have vault toilets, so taking a break on the way down the mountain has a little hitch if you prefer indoor plumbing. The ladies at the gift shop must have wanted to go home early. We got in before 7 and they had 3/4 of the lights turned off. They didn't make any moves to turn them back on so I went out and shot a few nice pictures of the lake as the light was hitting the...

These views really capture what makes this part of Colorado so special. It had been a few years since my last visit, but I drove up last summer after photographing a nearby mountain home and the reservoir is still an absolute gem! It’s close enough to Cascade and Chipita Park for a quick outing, yet remote enough to feel like a true retreat. Clean, peaceful, and family-friendly. I didn't get to see Bigfoot so maybe I'll catch a glimpse this year.

Such a beautiful view of the peak. It has a great little shop and bathrooms. There is also a little statue dedicated to big foot. Normally when the reservoir is full you can get a great picture of the peak in the back ground and its reflection off the water. However this year the reservoir has been drained to work on repairs. But that also gives you a chance to get a really unique picture.
