Of course, North Carolina provides premium beach experiences, however, the "access" at Wrightsville beach has its pros and cons. Having access to the beach is one thing, but being able to locate parking is an adventure all by itself. Being a native of eastern North Carolina, I frequently visit our beautiful coastal beaches. Many of the visits come with little to no problem with locating accessible parking, with Wrightsville beach being the exception. Beach accessible parking is limited to none existing. On one hand, I understand that maintaining minimal parking decreases overcrowding and may also deter an increase in criminal activity in the area. Having an area dedicated to catering to family units rather than a "party" crowd makes for a desirable vacation destination and encourages families to help boost the local economy through personal beachfront rentals as opposed to renting hotel and motel rooms. Read morePlenty of parking if you go before Noon on weekdays in July. Bathrooms, showers for your feet, changing rooms. It is $5 a hour or $25 a day. They host surfing camps for kids here in the morning and stay pretty peaceful. Lots of shells, clean water, clean sand, and Lifeguards. Police, fire, and first responders roll through every few hours for safety. Very friendly. Plenty of space to spread out wide. If you are on wheels, make sure they are sand ready, and have someone help push, it's steeper than some other acces points and some turns you got to take wide, but we made it through twice with a little...
Read moreAs of this review, Hurricane Florence came through the area one month ago. And the area is remarkably delightful considering some tarps are still on roofs and debris has yet to be picked up. The public access lot is spacious. The changing rooms and batrooms are in the parking area and well maintained. Rinse off showers and hoses also in excellent condition. This is an excellent section of Wrightsville Beach. As an individual I hung around for a few hours and many couples and families appeared to have settled in for the day....
