Solstice Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Wrightsville Beach

Solstice Kitchen was incredible! Everything about the Holiday Inn Resort Lumina was incredible, and the food and service here was fantastic.

This was just a single night getaway, so I only had dinner and breakfast. The restaurant space was immaculate. Great lighting, tons of seating options (booths, bar, tables, even an area in the back that was like a separate room for larger parties). The decor was clean and simple and uncluttered.

There's a great view of the beach, even from inside, and plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas. I ate inside but several folks were outdoors. Birds or other critters were not a nuisance at all. The menu isn't too extensive, but there were several meals I would've liked to try.

I went with the fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato tots. Portion size was just right and at a good price. The sweet potato tots were crispy and delish, and the dressing on the sandwich was so good. I also tried the pistachio torte for dessert. Just wow.

Breakfast is a buffet style with made to order omelettes. There was also fruit, pastries, breads (and a toaster), eggs, potatoes, grits, biscuits and some meat options (I didn't try any but I saw bacon). The butter was hard and the biscuits were dry, so that was crumbly. But everything else was excellent. The woman making the omelettes was a true artist. My servers, Abby and Allison, were an absolute delight. Friendly, attentive, great with recommendations and small talk, but not too in your face. Everyone I interacted with seemed genuinely happy to work there. There was an overall happy vibe that was soooo welcoming.

My entire experience at the resort was outstanding, and the meals and service were beyond anything I've experienced in a long time. I will definitely make an effort to come back...

Even if the food was awful and service even worst, sitting there looking at the ocean is worth it! I mean, come on, that's what you are paying for, but we had both great food and service. We always have there. It's so funny how my wife and I never get tired to being on the beach. Just the day before we were on our boat, the next day we want to eat on the ocean! We are so fortunate to live here, we really are! On with the review! Service was great, from our first person greeting us to the person who waited on us. Our food was not a full 5 stars, but a solid 4. Not sure what you would call the shrimp and how it was prepared, it almost seemed grilled, but not. Maybe lightly grilled? Not sure, but both my wife's shrimp on her salad and mine in the tacos seemed to be prepared the same way, not bad, but not over the top. My wife got some kind of strawberry kind of thing that she liked. It must of had quite a bit of liquor in it, because she got a little buzzed! I had just plain unsweet tea, which I must say was very good and fresh! Now for the best part! The sweet potato tots were to die for! I mean, these guys were off the charts! I could have eaten those all day long. That made the meal! For the Solstice I would have to say, I'd play an album for them and there is only one that comes to mind, "When Words Aren't Enough." Not so much for the food or place, but the view we were enjoying was out of this world. No words could describe the beauty of the ocean that day. We could have sat there all day and starred at it. For the song from that album, let's say....Summer. That song seems to capture how we were feeling as we looked to the never...

I know I just got done telling you at our table how much I love you but thank you so much for making us such a special dinner for my mom and I!

She is 73 years old and barely leaves her house anymore since we live in a different state. She just happened to be up here visiting and your demeanor was as great as the food! Having you as a server absolutely changed our experience!!

I know we had to ask for a little bit extra of this and could you look at that and what do you think of this.... And your smile and thoughtfulness and personableness was so generous!

I loved that I felt like a person you connected with every single time you came to the table and not somebody you were rushing to help or somebody you rush to get out of here. That is such a gift!

People might go out all the time and some people might appreciate this and some people might not but I will tell you the way you show up at a table and smile and make people feel like you just met them exactly where they are. You don't look over somebody. You don't rush us. You didn't make us feel like we had to be extra fancy. You answered our questions patiently about the food since we didn't know what some of it was.

You are an excellent representation of this restaurant and this company. 🙏

And I will just say I thank you that you made it such a beautiful night with my mom.
