Great return visit to a gorgeous area. Amazing views all around. Steep for beginners. Make sure to climb up to the bench near the top for a fantastic view. Be aware if you are a Forest Pass Holder, those passes will eventually not be honored here. Mountain High is taking over maintenance here and have introduced a new parking pass. Supposedly old Forest Passes that were already purchased will be honored but there's no other information that I've been able to find online as of June 2024.

Beautiful spot/ place. Beautiful view amazing sunsets. Rain or shine, or even snow, is beautiful. There's a bench you can sit and take in the view. They have plenty of parking there and across the street, which is where they have a restroom 🚻 is not always clean, so take all the Essentials that you would when you take a road trip or go camping. The only thing I don't like is the little graffiti.

This place is dangerous and very limited on safety! People are everywhere and the sledding can turned into a hazard. I cannot recommend this place, too small and dangerous for kids and adults. The police will tow your car if parked on red or no stopping area's. Only thing worth doing here is taking pictures, anything else do your self a favor and go to big bear!

So, this trail is 600 god d*mn miles long... we ran out of gas right around the chilao campgrounds... the rangers at the visitors center were very nice and let us use their land line, you know, since there is no reception for 300+ of the 600 mile trail... also, once you enter the angeles forest state park, there isnt a single gas station... at any rate, the tow company came about an hour an 20 minutes later and brought us 20$ worth of gas... it cost me $500, for someone to bring me 20$ worth of gas... this is why i give it 3 stars... very deceptive for tourists who think they are taking a leisurely drive through the woods... turned into the ride to hell... would still do it again, but this time with a full tank of gas... great sights, awesome road to drive if you like to drive... 46 miles of switchback s curves thru the...

I've driven by this turnout so many times. I had read online that there was a hiking trail also there. I had my dog with me and decided to stop here to hike the trail. There is the Pacific Crest trail or a dirt road you can hike on. I chose taking the road. Nice easy hike for 3/4 of the way and then the trail starts to climb. The last 1/4 gets you to the top of Mountain High West ski resort. Then you have the option of several other trails to take if you want to continue on with your hike. One of the trails will take you over to the Mountain High East top. Back at the parking lot there are toilets, but they...

Easy-ish 0.6 mile loop, remember it's at 7400 feet. Nicest to start the loop to the left. It dips down through some pines, and as it rises, there are nice views of the desert below. After the switchback, you come to a bench that faces Mountain High and can see some snow for a good part of the year. The trail rises a bit more, and you come to the second bench. From there, the view is to the west and you can see Mount Baldy and often Catalina Island. Yesterday was extra clear and I saw beyond Catalina to San...
