A medium size rest area just South of Cheyenne, WY. It has some covered picnic areas and an Information Center which mostly covers Wyoming but if you ask the Attendant, they also have Colorado maps and information (but they were hiding them under the desk, FYI). I stop just to rest or get a map, but I don't find it to be as restful an area as some of Wyoming's other rest stops. Weather conditions are usually a factor. If it's really sunny, there is no shaded parking. It can be windy (that's not unusual), or rainy and in the winter cold and snowy (and probably windy as well). Do remember that the State of Colorado is so close you can just about reach out and touch it! (Just a few miles south on I 25. If you want to go to Denver, just point the vehicle South and eventually you will run right into it. But first enjoy the fun and friendly cities of Ft Collins, Loveland and east from Loveland to Rocky Mountain National Park, before you go towards the Mile High City. If you turn that vehicle the opposite way, you will very quickly enter the Capital city of Wyoming: Cheyenne. Cheyenne is a medium size city with a fascinating history, and at one time in the past, rivaled Denver, CO. Now it's a more historical city with friendly people and a lot to see, so don't miss it. If you like Capitol buildings, I have not been to the Capitol building in Cheyenne for many years, but call ahead and inquire: It used to be one of my all time favorite Capitol buildings. This area always makes me feel at home, since I have lived in both Colorado and Wyoming.

Where do I start? TOM! Tom is the gem of Wyoming. We had zero plans on our way to Hartville, stopped for a quick restroom break and we met Tom. He has a passion for sharing knowledge, unique spots to visit and a true joy for what he does. Myself and two friends took his suggestion to check out Terry Bison Ranch and had the most magical bison train experience of our lives. We happened upon two gals who run a goat sanctuary and they let us hold two day old baby goats. We found out later that we could make a donation and name a goat. And we named that two day old baby goat Tom. You haven’t seen the last of us Tom! We love you and appreciate your incredible energy that set the tone for our trip!! We will NEVER forget you!!

Probably the nicest welcome/visitors center we've been to (I'm 50 and I retired at age 42 and have been blessed wit the opportunity to travel this great land that I love. We have visited 42 states and many welcome centers. I'm telling you this so you know "the why" I'm saying this is one of the nicest we've bee to). This was our 2nd time visiting we came through WY about 2 years ago and it was nice to see it look just the same. Great staff and plenty for the kids to do and all to see! Worth the stop when you visit Cheyenne, WY.

Absolutely stunning rest stop. Beautiful architecture, educational, and accessible. I felt like I should pay money to walk through. The staff was so knowledgeable about the area, they had recommendations and information beyond what is presented, which is a lot! Grab a brochure on literally anything Wyoming- camping, hiking, state parks, national parks, history, animals, etc. They also have a dog park and potable water for your RV. Should be a definite stop on your way through!

This welcome center is beautifully maintained, with modern and clean facilities, including a cozy seating area where you can relax and plan your next adventure throughout Wyoming. The décor is charming and reflects the local history and culture, making you feel right at home. There are plenty of maps and brochures, and the guest service desk personnel are courteous and very knowledgeable about their community. - Thank you for a great and welcoming experience!!!

For a rest stop, this place is awesome. Much more than a rest stop, actually - in addition to spacious, clean restrooms, it includes a sort of small museum covering local flavors of different Wyoming hotspots. Lots of room outside, picnic tables and shelters, and a really nice dog run. I always stop here on my way into Cheyenne when visiting family, even though my grandmother's house is only 10 minutes further up the road, because it's cool.
