2023-10-16: I have been coming to this area for years and never realized this place was here. I didn't have a chance to walk all of the trails yet, but I intend to in the near future. Supposedly, the gate is open from 6am to 8pm. There is no entrance fee. There is a boardwalk that goes around most of Salt Pond. There are numerous trails. Read moreThis is a great place if you want to go on a short hike or two by the gulf coast. When went during low tide. The trails are nice and they have a map on their website that shows you where and how long each trail is. There is a large tall observation platform onsite that overlooks the bay. We didn't see a ton of wildlife on our visit which was slightly disappointing but hey it just means we need to return for another visit. Part of it was a little run down and covered in storm debris (it did look like it was being updated). We eventually made our way over to the Ed Center, which was closed 😔.
