Bacon 🥓 Wrapped Shrimp and Steamed Mussels & Clams 😎😎😎 ...
Special thanks to Hailey, our wonderful waitress at Blackwater Restaurant in Yankeetown, Florida. Her attentive and friendly service made our dining experience truly enjoyable. Now, let's dive into the highlights of our meal, starting with the mouthwatering Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp.
The Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp at Blackwater Restaurant is an absolute delight for seafood enthusiasts. With each succulent bite, you'll be greeted by a perfect balance of flavors. The juicy, plump shrimp is encased in crispy, savory bacon, creating a delightful combination of textures. The smoky aroma of the bacon infuses the tender shrimp, enhancing their natural sweetness. Accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce that complements the dish perfectly, this appetizer is a must-try for any seafood lover.
Next on our culinary journey were the Steamed Mussels & Clams. Blackwater Restaurant takes pride in their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it shines through in this dish. The mussels and clams are cooked to perfection, boasting a delicate texture and a briny flavor that transports you straight to the ocean. The generous portion allows you to savor every mouthful, as you dip the tender shellfish into a fragrant broth. Served with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful juices, this dish is a true seafood lover's dream.
Last but certainly not least, we had the pleasure of indulging in the Tenderloin Carpaccio. This classic Italian appetizer was expertly prepared at Blackwater Restaurant, showcasing their culinary finesse. The thinly sliced tenderloin was impeccably tender and melted in our mouths. The meat was delicately seasoned, allowing the natural flavors to shine. Topped with a tangy vinaigrette and garnished with fresh arugula, shaved Parmesan, and capers, each bite was a harmonious symphony of taste and texture.
Overall, our experience at Blackwater Restaurant was outstanding. From the warm hospitality of Hailey to the delectable dishes we enjoyed, it was an evening to remember. The Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp was a true highlight, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise. The Steamed Mussels & Clams were a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality seafood, while the Tenderloin Carpaccio displayed their versatility in creating impeccable dishes from land as well. We highly recommend Blackwater Restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in...
Read moreThis hurts my heart to write. This area has been through so much, but this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. It was my dad’s birthday and I so wanted it to be special. My mom and I arrived 10 minutes early for our 6 pm reservation hoping to get a cocktail at the bar, but was told our table was ready, so we sat. We were one of two tables currently seated in the restaurant. 10 minutes later the 3 other members of our party (including my 5 year old) arrived and we still had not been greeted let alone served water. A few more tables had now arrived and had gotten drinks-still no server. 6:15 finally we get drinks and one of us gets a water, our server Todd asks us to wait to order until he has gotten the next tables drink order. 7 minutes go by, the table now has their drinks and we still haven’t ordered. In the meantime, tables seated after us have food! The server lets us know about food items they are out of, and we finally order. The restaurant is now mostly full with several tables already eating. I ordered the pork chops topped with bacon wrapped shrimp with cheesy grits, Dad gets pork chops with Demi glacé, mom got grilled grouper, son got shrimp nachos. My pork “chops” was actually pork loin smothered in mushrooms. I despise mushrooms and would’ve sent it back had our server bothered to check on us. The loin was over cooked and dry. My dads pork “chops” was also a dried out over cooked loin and served with watery mushrooms. The cheesy grits were undercooked and devoid of any flavor. The shrimp nachos were cold, and the cheese sauce was more like cheese paste over soggy cold fried shrimp. At no point did our server bother to check on us or our food. He did let us know that he wasn’t worried when we said we weren’t happy after asking for the bill. After 2 hours my 5 year old was a now up past 8 on a school night and we’ve got a half hour drive home and still waiting for the bill. I am so disappointed and...
Read moreAs retirees that enjoy trying new restaurants and adventures we drove the hour to try this restaurant for lunch based on some of the previous reviews and information/photos from the website. Well, it was Not what was presented online.
Upon arrival to Hostess seemed to be bothered that we were there, which was surprising especially when we noticed less than a dozen people in the restaurant.
Our Server was polite but not too efficient, we received no silverware or napkins only the soup spoons that were served with our lunch.
Restaurant is easy to find and on the River. The inside of the restaurant is nice, clean, and quaint. There a unique “tree” statue/decor at the bar.
The food was okay, but overpriced for the location and quality. It’s not a “Seasons 52” restaurant, but has the prices like it is. And the prices on their menu have been increased 2-3 dollars more since the photos of the menu were posted in a review 10 months ago.
The restaurant apparently does Not have a bustling business as the Outside dining area is filthy and disgusting. Cobwebs and bugs on walls, windows, furniture, and bench seating cushions dirty with mold spots.
A business/restaurant is to be cleaned and well maintained inside and out, especially when it’s in a wooded area and/or by water. This business is Not well maintained and/or cleaned.
We will continue to make the hour drive to Tampa for return dining experiences at Flemings and Eddie V’s.
Definitely not returning to this restaurant or...
