I found this beach on last morning of our week long vacation in South Yarmouth!!! the most beautiful beach I found yet in Cape Cod. first of all, I based my reviews on mobility impaired access, and boy does it ever have that! there is a pier and each plank on it is dedicated to a different person!! the pier stresses out easily half a mile and then has seats where you can sit and enjoy low tide or high tide. the marsh all around you and the small little beaches that are inaccessible at high tide give you the entire Cape Cod "unique" feeling! unless I was in the wrong place I would not go here to have a traditional Beach experience, but it's absolutely stunning. the marshes to the left as you walked on the pier out towards the open ocean ahead are proof positive that there is still hope for our ecological system! to the right there is a place you can launch boats and other watercraft, and that has a separate smaller Pier. I cannot wait because in 3 weeks I come back for my big annual Cape Cod vacation and this will be the first thing I do on my...
Read moreI’ve never experienced the most snobbiest, rudest, disgusting woman/employee than when I came to this beach. We didn’t even get a chance to pull up to the attendant booth and she was instantly flagging us away with her hands, making a movement to turn around. I pulled up to her and she told me they’re full and we had to just leave. I politely asked where else could we try going since everywhere else seemed full (it was still early, only 9:30am). She was so hostile and rude and said “weeeellllll it is August soooo”. Excuse me?? I nicely asked what other beach is around that she thought I could try and she didn’t want to be bothered. I apologize if you don’t like tourists and you’re miserable with your retirement life, but you chose this job, you need to learn to be KIND to visitors of the beach and just people in general. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day but I didn’t appreciate the way she treated my family and I. Very rude and...
Read moreSaturday end of August- we arrived around 10:30 am and there were only 4 parking spots left; $20 to park. I recommend arriving around low tide- it was perfect today as the tide was just starting to come in and there were huge swaths of sandbars to explore. You can set up camp on a sandbar but beware- the tide comes in quick after 2 hours and the only safe place to be at high tide is in the back half of the beach to the right of the entrance. The tide is strong; there were lifeguards on duty and jumping in to aid those who were caught off guard by the current. The boardwalk is long and nice but it does not lead to a beach; only to an observation area. Do not carry your gear down the boardwalk to reach a sandbar. There does appear to be restrooms by the picnic area and small playground; did not check them out. The sandbars and small tidal pools were filled with hermit crabs, crabs, fish and...
