So, after reading a couple of reviews, I really thought this trail would be perfect for me. I was wrong.

Let me preface this by saying—I’m not a huge outdoorsy person, but I will hop on a hike or a trail real quick and I usually enjoy it. This one started off really cool: decent path, a little challenging but not too bad. And then, it went downhill real, real fast. So you can imagine how going back uphill was absolutely crazy. Like, catch your breath every 5 minutes crazy.

Footwear matters. I cannot stress this enough: WEAR SHOES. Like, real shoes. I saw people out there in flip-flops, little shorts, bathing suits, no shirt. Absolutely not. That is not the kind of trail for that. You need gym shoes or hiking shoes—period. And perhaps long pants and long sleeves. You may regret anything less.

The trail actually leads to two different places, which is kind of cool—a cave and a supposed cliffside view. I made it to the cave, which was neat, but be prepared: to get into it, you have to climb down onto slippery rocks. So be very careful and maybe even bring water shoes if you want to go further inside—it’s slick and unstable. It’s worth checking out, just move slowly and watch your footing.

Now about that cliffside… listen. I met multiple groups of people (including myself) who ended up walking in a circle for like 30 minutes to an hour trying to find it. We never got there. I actually got scared that we were never going to find our way back. I don’t understand how the trail is marked at all. Maybe there are different trails that eventually lead to it? I don’t know. The signage (if you can call it that) is confusing, and there’s zero indication if you’re on the right path. It was just a loop of disappointment.

Last but definitely not least, BRING WATER!!!! I thought this was going to be a cute little trail but the heat and humidity was crazy. We barely had water and was lost so I felt like I was on an episode of Survivor.

Overall, I wanted to love this trail. Parts of it are great. The cave was cool. But unless the trail is better marked, and people wear proper clothes, it can be a rough and confusing experience. Still, it’s worth trying—just go in prepared to potentially get lost and maybe bring a hiking buddy who’s got a good sense...

Although I wasn't completely prepared for it, this was an awesome experience. I did it just in a pair of swim trunks, t-shirt and Crocs. We had a great time. Next time, I would recommend boots (i have heard cleats are great for this climb) and bring some kind of aquatic shoe for the cave itself. I would also have the contents of my backpack a little better waterproofed. Also STRONGLY recommend a flashlight... headlamp would be better. It is not quite 2 miles each way with about a 500 foot drop along the way. They have a good job of having some kind of rope (hose, whatever) to help you aling the way. The path is pretty well marked with orange(?) tags. Please pack out whatever you bring in. Just a...

The hike going down to the Cave was fast and easy because it was all downhill. The water in the Cave is crystal clear. Easy access in and out… Then we hiked up to the coast line where you can see the water smashing the Rocks… Absolutely stunning. Bring a Drone to take Pictures. Absolutely Epic….. The hike on the way back up the Mountain was TOUGH… Don’t bring heavy bags and equipment, you will regret it😂… It’s just the steady incline that beats you up. Don’t bring kids unless they can climb steep mountains. Wear good shoes. All in all, amazing hike. Im doing it...

The hike itself is short and well marked. You can choose to stop at the cave or continue to the cliff side. The cliffside is absolutely gorgeous. To get down into the cave use the right side entrance, the left side is very tricky. Once inside the cave you must have your own source of light. You can choose to stay at the mouth of the cave, or walk in and enter the bigger cave through a little inlet. Water is about 5 feet high to get into the bigger cave. You can swim around in the bigger cave and it’s really pretty. If you only stay at the mouth of the cave, it’s not worth it.
