This area is absolutely beautiful! The water is crystal clear with very healthy algae. The plant life around is all safe, some is even in such an abundance you could forage (if you know your plant life). Be careful, there are rattlesnakes in the area. There was a warning sign regarding bears, I'm writing this 5/21/25 and we saw none thankfully.

There is some graffiti, unfortunately there always seems to be some and a few bits of trash everywhere we go these days. It's unfortunate that somewhere so beautiful could be disrespected, but here we are. We found a total of 5 water bottles, 2 beer cans/bottles, and 1 Gatorade bottle during our 4 hour hike of the area. It could have been much worse! The water outside in the sunny area was about 10 degrees warmer than in the trees, but it was tolerable still to be knee deep in some places. The hike does just end suddenly at a railing, but if you are careful you can hike further up in the water. Absolutely fantastic area, we would love to...

Since this is closed you can go to my YouTube channel, and view 360 VR List and other list shows other content in same location, thank you for viewing ahead of time. There is now an advisory according to channel 5KTLA can't go beyond the Overlook Balcony to view The Falls. As of July 4th 2019, will be in affect until May 2020, ( as of October 15th 2020 will be closed until May 27th 2021) which will continue due to winter and spring snow melt. The warning due severe injury of individual who didn't have correct footwear. Slipped and fell, and had been helicoptered out to emergency medical facilities. It is off limits to every one if caught going beyond the balcony would face a $5,000 or 6 months prison time do say you weren't warned

Nice short trail to man made balcony to view Falls. Picnic Benches limited parking nice environment good neighborhood, easy to get too. New advisory as October 15th 2020 will be closed until...

One of the best waterfalls in So Cal! Plenty of parking. There is a fee parking zone, but if you come early enough, you can park on the dirt lot, which is free, as indicated on the sign. Big tip getting to the upper falls - Once you go past the railing, there is a big tree right in the middle of the water. Cross the stream after that point. You will get a little wet, but not much. You may want to bring water shoes but it's not required. Do not try any other route like I did. It will be unnecessary and troublesome. Once you cross the stream, you'll have to scramble your way up, and you will eventually reach the upper falls. But if the water is too high or rushing, DO NOT GO to the upper falls. Stay at viewpoint. Other than that, enjoy your hike and be...

An extremely beautiful and not too well known location (probably for the better!) containing a 60ft natural waterfall cascading down a rocky mountainside. The hike to the waterfall is easy most of the way but becomes moderately difficult with slippery rocks towards the top. A very peaceful place for being so close to other large cities. Unfortunately, some graffiti plagues the area due to disrespectful visitors but thankfully, the area is still well-preserved. Parking typically requires an adventure pass but free parking is also available in a gravel area within the parking lot. Overall a must see location if you're in the area, but PLEASE clean after yourself to keep the place free of charge and in pristine condition for all of us 😊

Big Falls Trailhead is an incredible treasure! From the very beginning of the hike, you can truly appreciate the magnificence of Mother Nature. The trail is stunning, but the ultimate reward is the falls — the views will take your breath away, and the crystal clear water is mesmerizing. It’s a place that encourages you to pause and embrace the beauty of the outdoors. Peaceful, refreshing, and awe-inspiring — a must-visit for anyone who cherishes nature at its finest!
