This is a great trail for just walking, running and mountain biking. I accessed the main trail from a small road that is paved which leads up to a black large gate with an open section.
The road can he found near the tennis courts and the track/soccer field at Crafton Hills College. You will know you are on the correct path if you see solar panels on each side and a water tank near the beginning of the dirt trail. You will go around another smaller gate and this is where the dirt trail begins. This is the South West entrance.
There are other ways to access these trails but I have never tried the other routes. I walked almost to the top in rain during winter storms so it was a little muddy in sections but I really enjoyed it.
On a day like this I encountered only a few guys on bikes and a couple of joggers. And two coyotes that were ahead of me about 75 yards. They kept stopping and looking at me....

Theres a beautiful plateau on top overviewing the city of Redlands, Yucaipa and Mentone in the foreground of San Bernardino mountains. Read moreThis is a out and back trail. The trail ends at PRIVATE PROPERTY on Lakeview Rd and is inaccessible. However if linked with the 38Special trail or Grape Ave. there is access to the entire ridge of Crafton Hills Open Space Preserve.
