Zion-Benton Public Library — Attraction in Zion

A few months ago I started using the on line ordering system to check out books and dvds. I thought that due to COVID that you would have a better way of checking in items that was lent out. This was my second attempt in using this library and had stopped due to the fact that a number of years ago I had an issue where my brother had returned something but on your end it stated that it was not checked back in. Eventually you found that item that we had turned in but the end results was that we where not happy with your services. Now I am having this same issue in that I have returned an item and you are leaving me messages on my phone stating that I have a late item out and to return it. When first getting a phone call about this issue I had called in to state that I had returned your item. I have made the attempt to come in to tell you that I have returned that item and that you need to look for it on your end. I did this a few days ago. Yesterday I have received another phone call about returning your item and again I can say that you have it somewhere. Today I had made another attempt in calling in to state that I don't have that item and that it has been turned in. All I know is that I will not come back to use your library. Your system still has some flaws. These past few months I have been checking things out and have not had any issues in returning any of the items. During the time that I had to return the suppose item that you are looking for I had also had a second item that was turned in that same day. That second item was also lost but you had found it. In the end I would be happy to just turn in my library card and no longer use your services. If I need any books or videos will use the stores to pick up these items or go on line to order them. I visited today for the 1st time with my 3yr old. I went off reviews, it seemed to be ok. We entered the youth dept which was extremely outdated & didnt seem clean at all. I was in there for maybe less than 15 mins. My son requested another library. We usually go to Waukegan or Gurnee. As we were leaving & I get my son buckled in. I realize that someone was messing with my car. My wiper blades were lifted & my mirrors were moved. Very strange. I parked in the library lot. I will not be returning here. Not a good vibe...

We live equal distance between the Waukegan and Zion library but had never visited the Zion one. I took my almost 3yo there today hoping they had a decent kids zone and was impressed! The space is open and updated. It was super nice. My daughter was entertained for nearly two hours and she did not want to leave when it was time to leave.
