From memories of years ago me and my dad set up for the big swap meet was a weekend ordeal and people from all walks of life what was intrigued by Me was the collection of old hit and miss engines build steam tractors oil burning tractors farm equipment and Contraptions that people built just to drive around to look at other peoples contraptions and the Fried Chicken from the church that rents the little building near the Peace River boys was great food and down-home feeling the People You Meet was always a pleasure to go see just was wondering if you guys still do that out there it's been a number of years ago since I've been my dad's long since passed but my memories of that day on the river looking at all junk or fond memories just want to know if it's still going on thank you for your time I have enjoyed it...
Read moreThis was our second time here. We were able to park down on the pond. Dry camping, but we were able to access potable water and a dump station. Yes there are gators in the pond. No, they did not bother us. We followed the rules. No swimming and no feeding the alligators. During our week, there was an impromptu karaoke night, and we searched for shark teeth in the Peace River...just on the other side of the pond. We visited some local attractions like Soloman's Castle and Joshua's Citrus. There is a Museum on this property, as well as a Wildlife Refuge. Walmart is 15 minutes away. $69 plus tax for a week is a bargain!! Will come again next year! Thank you...
Read morePioneer Park was clean and had great access to peace river where you can fossil hunt. Kids found shark teeth and had a blast. The park was clean and the campground was nice with tables. Bathrooms were well kept up and clean. The down side was its very close to a busy road so for camping you hear the traffic all night. There was also a dog that barked most of the night (though that's not really the fault of the park). They have this big open air hanger. The weekend we went they held a huge party there and even though we weren't that close the music was so loud that it was very intursive and lasted all day. It really took away from the peaceful nature...
