Our stay at Bounce Beach Resort & Spa was unfortunately disappointing in nearly every respect.
At check-in, we were denied entry by the security guard—even after stating that we were hotel guests. Instead of helping us, we were left to carry our luggage from the industrial back road, over uneven stones, trying to find the entrance. Only after wandering around for a while did someone inform us that the actual hotel entrance was in a completely different location. A vehicle was eventually arranged to take us there, but by then the inconvenience had already taken its toll.
The room was in very poor condition. The walls are extremely thin—you can hear conversations from guests two rooms away. The windows are poorly sealed, so the constant noise from the nearby cargo terminal, sirens, trucks, and a loud karaoke bar nearby all came in clearly, often until midnight. The furniture is old and not well maintained. The bedsheet was stained and we had to change it ourselves. The floor was so dirty that our feet turned black just minutes after walking barefoot. Even after housekeeping came, the floor remained filthy. We had to clean it ourselves with a towel. I suspect the showerhead was moldy, as more than half of the nozzles were black and clogged. The entire bathroom felt unhygienic.
The location is especially bad for travelers looking to relax. The hotel is situated directly next to the access road for Da Nang’s main shipping terminal. Loud industrial activity continues throughout the day and night. For anyone seeking peace and quiet—this is absolutely the wrong choice. There’s nothing to do in walking distance, and going out is not an option. Da Nang city, where nightlife and restaurants are found, is 8 km away.
Breakfast was also underwhelming. There is no buffet—just a small selection of à la carte items such as a croissant or toast, pho, or Korean-style dishes. The options are limited and the portions small. The coffee was undrinkable, and we were told that a proper, fresh coffee would cost an extra 110,000 VND during breakfast. This felt excessive and disappointing.
We requested to speak with management several times to give direct feedback. A callback was promised—but it never came, even after more than 14 hours. That says a lot about how guest concerns are handled here.
I honestly would not have left a negative review if there had been at least some accountability. I truly believe that the staff, especially housekeeping, are not to blame for the poor conditions—they are doing their best under difficult circumstances. It became clear when the receptionist told us she was working alone and couldn’t even assist with luggage. But after more than 20 hours at the property, not once did a manager or supervisor show up or reach out to us. That was the final disappointment.
Conclusion: If you’re looking for rest, cleanliness, or good service—this hotel is not for you. The label “Resort & Spa” is misleading. In reality, the conditions fall short of even hostel standards. We came hoping for a relaxing beach escape and left disappointed, tired, and frustrated. Better to pay a little more elsewhere and enjoy your vacation properly. This one is not...
Read moreI recently spent a day at Bounce Resort & Spa and, overall, it’s a nice spot to unwind—if you manage your expectations.
You can access the resort by purchasing a drink, which gives you full access to all the facilities and the private beach shared with the Navy Hotel. It’s a great concept if you’re just looking to relax for the day without booking a room.
However, be prepared for seriously overpriced drinks. A mango juice or a coconut water, both of which you could get on the street for 20,000 VND or in a café for 40,000 VND, costs 120,000 VND here—plus 8% VAT—bringing it to around 130,000 VND each. Food is also on the pricey side, starting at about 250,000 VND and also subject to VAT.
I ordered the seafood burger, and honestly, it wasn’t anything special. The fries that came with it were only lukewarm, not hot and crispy like you’d expect at those prices. For what they charge, I expected a bit more in terms of quality and presentation.
The facilities themselves are decent, but not perfect. The sun loungers were a bit dirty, and one of mine was actually broken. I also wasn’t offered a towel…maybe they provide them for day pass guests, but it wasn’t made clear to me.
That said, if you’ve already eaten and just want to chill by the beach or pool with a drink, the 130,000 VND entry (via a drink) is still worth it for a full day of access. Just don’t come expecting luxury-level service or value for...
Read moreI hate to leave a bad review. I really do. But we had booked 2 nights here, checked out after the first, and paid the full amount. The staff as a whole were friendly enough, but took time and effort to warm up to us (Middle aged Australians, genuinely interested in learning the language and customs).
We experienced very loud noises running through the building while we were trying to sleep that sounded like the water pipes need replacing, it's right along the industrial end of the port, so there are truck horns going all through the night, and one of the "timber" walls in the front reception room had bowed, swelled and de-formed completely. While the room itself was relatively priced, a beer here costs minimum 3 times what you would pay anywhere else, there are 4 cocktails and no spirits on the drinks menu, and while the food itself looked incredible and very well paired given the beachfront, the main building needs so much work for this restaurant to be even remotely considered. It still has the sign of the old business on one of the entrances for crying out loud.
It does have a beautifully located beach with some awesome water sports and what looked to be an excellent restaurant experience, but the attention to detail for the maintenance and upkeep just isn't where it should be. The whole experience felt like...
