Gành Đá Đĩa, also known as Ghềnh Đá Đĩa, is a natural geological wonder located in An Ninh Đông commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province, Vietnam. It's about 35 kilometers north of Tuy Hoa city. This site is renowned for its unique formation of basalt columns arranged in a honeycomb-like structure that extends into the sea, creating a stunning visual landscape.

The basalt columns were formed by volcanic lava that cooled rapidly when coming into contact with the cold seawater, resulting in their characteristic shape. The formation is not only scientifically fascinating but also visually striking, drawing both tourists and geologists.

To visit Gành Đá Đĩa, an entrance fee of 40,000 VND. The ideal times for visiting are in the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight creates spectacular reflections on the stone surface.

Beyond the breathtaking views, visitors can enjoy the fresh air, listen to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, and immerse themselves in the local culture. The site is a must-see for anyone...

Ganh Da Dia (Gành Đá Dĩa or Ghềnh Đá Dĩa in Vietnamese, literally means The Sea Cliff of Stone Plates) is a seashore area of uniformly interlocking basalt rock columns located along the coast in An Ninh Dong Commune, Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province, Vietnam.

The area is about 100 meters wide and 250 meters long, composed of an estimated 35,000 columns of basalt rocks. The rocks are dark lava columns with roughly flat surfaces of different shapes - round, pentagon, hexagon, polygon etc. Ghenh Da Dia looks like a gigantic beehive or a pile of dinner plates, hence the name – Ghenh Da Dia (The Sea Cliff of Stone Plates).

These rock columns were created from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago; when the molten basalt flows met cold water, they solidified and shaped these rare polygonal formations due to thermal contraction effects.

Ganh Da Dia was enlisted as a National Heritage site in January 1998 by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and...

Be wary of the ticket seller here. She tried to charge me 160k for one person. She said the listed price is for "old people". Maybe it was a misunderstanding but she was very rude. Also the parking attendant didn't have change for 10k when the listed price was 5k. It's only a small amount of money but the whole process of visiting this area and how the staff acted was unprofessional and completely different to the kindness and honesty I have experienced in Vietnam. I'm writing this so hopefully others can avoid a bad experience. If you can you can try searching for the nearby place of worship that seems to allow you to access the same area for free because I'm not sure it's justified to charge people to even enter this area considering they couldn't even keep the area clean.
