Whew!

On my way to the Wave Beach, I already had a preconceived notion about beaches in my head. I wasn't ready for what I'd meet😅

Got to the beach and from the entrance, I got hyped. There was a cute picture stand with the brand's name where you can take pictures (picture 1).

Then, we (yeah, I wasn't alone) were welcomed by a warm receptionist who coupled as a vendor. From here, I'd categorize my experience with the headings below.

Ambience The atmosphere was coooool. There were comfy chairs with shades to save you from the wrath of the sun😅

Food They have different kinds of food and drinks on their menu. We didn't buy food because we had eaten in the car but we bought drinks so I can tell you a bit about them. They have soft drinks, red wines, alcoholic wine, champagne and other kinds of drinks. I like that they have drinks to cater to different people's tastes.

Price: Their drinks were quite on the high side. A glass of wine was around 5,000 naira or so. I went for a bottle of soft drinks (Fanta) which was 1000 naira.

Instagramable place? Instagramable means pictures that fit to be on Instagram. Like cute and stunning pictures.

Is the Wave Beach Instagramable? Yes, it is. They're cute places you can take pictures. Really cute places. There's a spot on the rocks where you can take fire pictures for Instagram.

If you're fascinated by how water on the beach moves, you can take a lot of them because it happens frequently.

Plus enjoyment I think they also rent headphones so you can rock to music with your friends and family. There's also a swimming pool section.

In summary, I had a good time. I had a...

Lies, lies, lies…….Absolutely ZERO value for money. Paid 12k to access the beach area. Meanwhile we were informed they only charge per car not per adult head. Paid N50k to get access into wave beach. 30k for my 3 kids coz they promised all sorts of games for the kids. Staff at the entrance were disorganized, confused and lacked mannerisms.

Pure lieessss. The bouncy castles were all dirty, pool was so dirty. Even a toddler just broke his head inside the pool when we just arrived. Toilet was very dirty and had this fowl smell. Dirts on the beach sand and inside the water. Couldn’t let my kids go near any of their so called recreational dirty bouncy castles

At the restaurant, staff were super rude and unpleasant. To add salt to my dissatisfaction, we were rudely told to pay N20k for 4 seats before we could order a meal to eat. These seats were dirty and unkept.

Had to leave in disgust, dissatisfaction and disappointment. Getting to where we packed our cars, they had tied a red line saying we would pay before leaving. I was pissed though we ended up not paying after prolonged argument. To think this place was recommended.. Even called to inquire if they had a spa, response was YES. Meanwhile NO spa available. Total waste of time and resource's. The short beach front was all they had to offer.

Never visiting here again. Never will I ever think of this place as a relaxation or fun area. Zero zero value for...

First off, I like that it’s free entry to the beach (cos why am I paying to enter any beach in Lagos). It’s a nice, calm and a somewhat private beach… it’s quite small but big enough to host a beach party. I like that they don’t have “boys” loitering around and begging for money. It is relatively safe, I left my phones and food and moved around a bit and they were untouched. It has a pool at the centre and the wash area is right beside it (so everyone can see you rinse your body). It has a kids section that is restricted and see through Dj played loud music all through and then he stops at random for whatever reason… some cultural dancers came around to serenade us in the afternoon lol

The food is very cheap (also depends on what you order; mine was around 8k ish and you get good value for money, it tastes nice…. Their cocktails are also fairly priced (around 4.5k and above) and they taste good so food is 5/5 tbh.

It is kid friendly and the pool isn’t deep at all.

There is a vip spot

The cons are food is a bit oily (not so bad), monitor what you order cos the waitresses added extra stuff to my bill and insisted someone said they should put it on my tab…they will take forever to bring your food depending on...
