Pinjore Garden, also known as Yadavindra Gardens, is a historical garden located in the town of Pinjore, about 20 kilometers from Chandigarh, India. Spanning over 100 acres, this meticulously designed garden is a fusion of Mughal, Rajasthani, and Persian architectural styles, offering visitors a glimpse into the past with its majestic layout and serene beauty. The garden’s roots date back to the 17th century, originally constructed by the Mughal rulers, and later revamped by Maharaja Yadavindra Singh in the 19th century. It is a popular tourist destination, particularly for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and families looking for a tranquil escape. The layout of Pinjore Garden is its most striking feature. It is built in the traditional Mughal style, with a series of terraced levels that descend from the entrance down to a central water pool, mirroring the grandeur and symmetry typical of Mughal-era gardens. The garden is designed to represent paradise on Earth, with lush greenery, fountains, and cascading waterfalls. The well-maintained lawns, vibrant flower beds, and tall, stately trees provide visitors with an excellent environment to relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. The garden is divided into several sections, each offering a distinct experience. The central area features the famous “Chadar Fountain,” where water flows down the steps in a mesmerizing cascade, a sight that is as refreshing as it is beautiful. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the pathways, flanked by trimmed hedges and ancient trees, allowing one to experience the peaceful atmosphere that the garden exudes. The symmetry in the placement of plants and fountains evokes a sense of balance and harmony, making it a haven for those seeking relaxation. One of the most fascinating aspects of Pinjore Garden is its historical significance. The garden has witnessed centuries of history, having been a part of the Mughal Empire’s expansion and later the princely state of Patiala. It has also been a site of various royal events, which adds to its cultural appeal. The architecture is an exemplary representation of Mughal and Rajasthani art, from the arched gateways to the intricately designed pavilions, offering a window into the past. In addition to its architectural and historical charm, Pinjore Garden is a place of recreation and leisure. The garden hosts a variety of flora, from medicinal plants to flowering species, making it an ideal spot for nature walks. It also houses a zoo and a small museum, adding to its appeal as a family-friendly destination. The presence of well-maintained amenities like benches, picnic spots, and clean walkways further enhances the visitor experience. While the garden is beautiful year-round, it is especially popular during the Pinjore Heritage Festival, typically held in the winter months. During this time, the garden is lit up with colorful lights, and cultural events, music performances, and exhibitions are organized, making it a lively and vibrant attraction. On the downside, some visitors might find the garden slightly crowded, especially during weekends and festivals. Moreover, while the garden is well-maintained, certain parts could benefit from additional restoration work, particularly the pavilions, which show signs of wear due to age. In conclusion, Pinjore Garden is a perfect blend of nature, history, and architecture. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful place to unwind, this beautiful garden offers something for everyone. Its historical legacy, serene atmosphere, and picturesque surroundings make it one of the most cherished destinations in the region.

One of the best places for a getaway with your family and friends ❤️. Pinjore Gardens have been one of the most popular destinations nearby Chandigarh as well as Panchkula city. If you want a day out with your near and dear ones you can plan at least three places to visit in a day. In the morning or in the afternoon, on the way to Pinjore, the 1st place you can have a halt at is Gurudwara 10th Paatshahi Shri Nada Sahib, Panchkula which is a famous sikh temple situated on the bank of Ghaggar river in Sivalik foothills. You can have a calming experience, take blessings of the Guru, relish the holy community meal and head towards the Yadvindra Gardens pinjore. It is advisable to reach there around 5 in summers, around 4 in transitional weather as in November so that the sun is about to set in order to avoid excessive heat in open gardens. However, if you wanna enjoy sunny days of winters, nothing like it👍. At dusk, you can enjoy colorful lighting there and refreshing fountains along with fabulous music 🎶 🎵 😀 played. (watch uploaded videos). This spot is wonderful for having picnics as the ticket price suits everyone's pocket. It's just 25/- person and you can take mats/ sheets with u or enjoy sitting on lush green grass to have lunch/ tea/ dinner🤩😃. The garden comprises of 7 different terraces having interesting architectural constructions to click pics and videos. The gardens are lush green and well maintained. There is provision of dustbins to main cleanliness as well. Apart from all the fun inside, kids can also experience great fun having camel/ horse ride or a toy train ride, the prices for which are quite reasonable. After having fun in this awesome and peaceful ambience, you can also visit Chokhi Dhani, an artificially created Rajasthani village showcasing its heritage & culture through various activities. Here, timings are from 4:30 to 11 pm. All in all, trip to Pinjore can be a memorable and wholesome experience.

Yadvindra Gardens, is known as Pinjore Gardens. By the way its full name is Yadvindra Gardens, Pinjore. The distance of Pinjore garden from Chandigarh is 23 Kilometers. It is situated in Panchkula district of Haryana(India). The park is so beautiful that you will be mesmerized here. It has 3-4 different sections. The lush greenery, historic structures, and fountains create a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful picnic. The gardens are open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, allowing ample time to explore its beauty during the day and even after sunset. The special thing about this park is that it is built at a straight 90 degree angle. This garden was built by kings and nawabs in the 16th to 17th century. There are different stories related to this in history. It is said that it was built by King Yadavindra. Here Jal Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Rangmahal and Food Court have been very well architected in sequence. In fact, this very beautifully shaped park in front of the Himalayas has been protected by fencing. The ticket here is 25 rupees and parking is 40 rupees. You can definitely spend time here with your family. However, despite its charm, the maintenance of Pinjore Gardens leaves much to be desired. During my visit, I noticed that several fountains were not operating well, with some not functioning at all. This detracted from the overall experience and left me feeling disappointed. Overall, while Pinjore Gardens offers a tranquil retreat for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike, its lack of maintenance detracts from its potential to truly shine as a top tourist destination in Chandigarh.
